About Liondar – Creative Magazine Theme
An online magazine sinks if readers don't get past the first story
Setting up a news site, a personal blog or a lifestyle magazine is the easy part. The hard part is getting someone who arrived through a headline to keep reading, open another article and come back tomorrow. Many magazine themes look great on the front page and become heavy or awkward once there are hundreds of posts. Liondar is built for that moment: keeping readers inside your content.
A walk through Liondar: from installation to your first front page
Imagine you are launching a travel or tech magazine. Here is how the work gets done:
- Start from a demo. You import the demo content with one click and don't need to touch CSS or HTML. Keep in mind there are only a few starting front pages (more than two, with new ones on the way), so don't expect a huge catalog of styles.
- Adjust the look. The options panel, based on Codestar Framework, and the customizer with live preview let you change colors, typography (with Google Web Fonts), sidebars and category layouts without code.
- Build the front page. It uses Elementor, with the theme's own news blocks, to assemble the home page. Before buying, check in the demo which blocks are included and whether you need them with the free or the paid version of Elementor.
- Choose how categories and articles look. There are layout variations for both, so a politics section doesn't have to look like a beauty one.
- Publish and let readers keep going. Front page blocks and categories load more posts with Ajax without reloading the page, and on the article page the next post can autoload as you scroll.
A menu that stays out of the way on mobile
A large part of your audience will read on a phone, where every pixel counts. The smart sticky navigation shows the menu only when the reader scrolls up. If you prefer, the menu stays always visible or is turned off completely. There are three options, chosen from the theme settings.
Reading details Liondar already includes
- Estimated reading time and view counter for each post.
- Related posts and breadcrumbs to move between content.
- Mailchimp form to collect subscribers and a social counter.
- Dark mode, Font Awesome 5, Icofont and Remix Icons.
- Child theme included, WPML compatibility for multilingual sites, and a design adapted to retina screens and to mobile, tablet and desktop.
It suits magazines, news sites, personal blogs and topics such as fashion, sports, travel, health or yoga. It is not a store: don't expect e-commerce features. It also doesn't include an advertising system or paid subscriptions.

Can I customize it without breaking anything on update?

Is it only for news?
