Your blog is your showcase, and the home page decides
Creative blogs often end up the same way: a home page with the latest posts in a row, a portfolio hidden in a menu and the feeling that it makes no difference who is writing. Visitors who come to see your work judge it at first glance, and that glance is the home page. Mafiaso starts from that idea: the home page can be built in several ways depending on what you want to show first.
It comes with home variants featuring a 3D slider, a header image, a carousel and video (from Vimeo, from YouTube or hosted on your own site). If your best asset is a strong image, use the header; if it is motion, the video; if you have several pieces, the carousel.
Blog and portfolio in the same theme
Mafiaso does not make you choose between writing and showing projects. The blog can be laid out full width, with a sidebar on the right or on the left, and every post has its own detail page. The portfolio offers listings in two, three or four columns, a masonry style (a grid with uneven heights, useful if your images come in different formats) and a detail page for each project.
It also includes an About Us page and a contact page, the minimum a client expects to see before writing to you.
Gallery, video and audio posts with SoundCloud
Not everything a creative publishes is text. Posts can be presented as an image gallery, as video or as audio from SoundCloud.
The theme includes these widgets:
- Search, categories and archives.
- Recent and popular posts.
- Custom menu and popular tags.
- Calendar, free text, newsletter and user login.
If you want to sell, you will need a separate plugin
Mafiaso is a content theme: blog, portfolio and multimedia posts. Before buying it, separate what it already includes from what you will have to solve yourself.
- Already solved: several home pages, blog layouts with or without a sidebar, a portfolio in columns or masonry, and gallery, video and audio posts.
- With another plugin: an online store, bookings or any kind of payment; the theme is not designed for that.
- By hand or with a professional: search engine optimization, copywriting and photography; the sample posts are filler and must be replaced.
- To check in the demo: whether the newsletter widget works for you as it is or you need to connect your own email service.

Is it only for personal blogs?
No. It combines blog and portfolio, so it also works for showing projects and writing about them.
Can I put a video on the home page?
Yes. There are home variants with video from Vimeo, from YouTube or hosted on your own site.
Can I build a store with it?
That is not its purpose. If you are going to sell, you will have to add an e-commerce plugin and check how it looks with the design.
Can I switch the sidebar to the other side?
Yes. The blog supports a sidebar on the right, on the left, or full width with no sidebar.
