MainWP Lighthouse Extension installs on your MainWP dashboard and runs Lighthouse audits on your child sites through the Google PageSpeed Insights API. It measures performance, accessibility and SEO, and tells you where to look. It fixes nothing on its own.
A Monday with thirty sites: how to use MainWP Lighthouse Extension
Imagine you have thirty client sites connected to your dashboard.
- The key first: the extension needs a Google PageSpeed Insights API key. Without it there are no audits, so get it before you start.
- First round: you run the audit on several sites at once. Testing thirty sites one by one takes about 16 minutes; with the extension, about 5.
- Reading: the stats for all your sites appear on a single page, with no need for a tab per client. You quickly spot which one has got worse.
- Automation: you turn on the option to audit sites automatically and pick a daily, weekly or monthly frequency. You stop having to remember.
- Alerts: you set up alerts so you find out when performance falls below what you expect, instead of checking blindly.
- Handing over to the client: you generate detailed reports to show them the state of their site with data.
Be clear about the scope: the extension measures and alerts. Improving the score (images, caching, scripts) is still work for you or for other tools.

MainWP Lighthouse Extension is an add-on: it only makes sense if you already manage your sites from a MainWP dashboard, with the sites connected. If you have a single website and don't use MainWP, it isn't what you are looking for. If you are in the opposite case, with a growing client portfolio, it gives you regular quality tracking without spending your afternoon on it.
