About Medik – WP Medical Theme
A clinic or a medical supply store has a problem an ordinary shop does not: the same website must serve someone looking for an appointment and someone who wants to buy a blood pressure monitor, and mixing both without order confuses everyone. Medik tries to solve this with a design built for the medical sector, combining treatment and doctor pages with a WooCommerce shop.
One theme for two sites in one: clinic and shop
Medik is designed for medical centers, hospitals, surgeons, dermatology, skin clinics, cosmetic surgery and laser treatments, but also for pharmacies, medical supply stores, laboratory equipment and health products. Its layout is service-oriented, so you can present treatments calmly and, in parallel, open a product catalog.
Here is the key idea: in healthcare, people do not buy on the first visit. They look at who treats them, what treatments are offered and what the results look like, and only then decide. That is why the supporting pages matter, not just the storefront.
What helps people decide: doctors, treatments and results
- Doctor information and staff bios, to put a face to the people who treat patients.
- Treatment programs with their own inner pages.
- Before and after gallery, useful in dermatology, aesthetics or laser.
- Testimonials and an FAQ section.
- Appointment form and integrated Google Maps for your location.
- Store locator, if you have several branches.
If you publish before and after photos or patient testimonials, you need their consent. It involves health data and should be handled properly.
Builder, sliders and shortcodes already included
The theme comes with Visual Composer as its page builder (drag and drop), Slider Revolution for animated sliders, Contact Form 7 for forms with CAPTCHA and Akismet filtering, and a one-click demo importer. It adds shortcodes, its own widgets (social networks such as Facebook, Instagram and Twitter), medical icons, Font Awesome and more than 500 Google Fonts. Customization goes through the Kirki customizer, and there are headers and menus (including mega menus) with different designs.
This means you start from a complete base, but you will work with Medik's own tools (Visual Composer, not Elementor or Gutenberg as the core). If you already master another builder, you will have to learn this one.
Online appointments are not a booking system
Expectations need adjusting here. What Medik already solves and what you will have to cover yourself:
- Already solved: an appointment form so patients can send a request, clinic design, doctor and treatment pages, a WooCommerce shop, a before and after gallery.
- With another plugin: a booking calendar with real-time availability, automatic reminders or consultation payments, if you need them.
- By hand: treatment texts, your own photos of the clinic or store (the demo images are not included) and the legal notice.
- With a professional: adapting to data protection and health advertising rules, and selling regulated products such as medicines.
The demo also mentions cannabis and CBD stores, but sales regulations vary greatly by country: check them before building anything like that.
Frequently asked questions about Medik
Is it only for a clinic, without a shop?
Yes. The shop part is WooCommerce and you can leave it unused; the rest (doctors, treatments, appointments, testimonials) works as a services website.
Can I sell medicines with it?
The theme provides the shop design, but selling medicines is usually regulated. Check your country's rules before listing them.
Does it include the demo photos?
No. The demo images are copyrighted and are not included, so you will need to use your own or obtain a license for them.
Can I import the demo and edit it?
Yes, it has a one-click demo importer. Afterwards you edit the content with Visual Composer and the customizer.
Is it mobile friendly?
Yes, it is a responsive design that also works on mobile.
