About Meetup – Conference Event WordPress Theme

A conference is decided weeks before the doors open

Building an event website often ends with a home page where the programme is pasted in as an image, a form nobody can find and a map lost at the bottom. An undecided attendee judges in minutes whether the event deserves their time, and does it by looking at who is speaking, when and where. Meetup is designed for exactly that journey: speakers, schedule, FAQs, a registration form and a location map as sections of their own.

Meetup and its 24 WPBakery Page Builder modules

The theme includes WPBakery Page Builder and 24 custom modules so you can lay out pages without touching code. You can change the style and colour of each module, and everything you see in the demo is built with them.

  • Pages: templates with a left or right sidebar, full width, a 404 page, a real coming soon page and a search page with its own design.
  • Backgrounds: colour, your own image, parallax effect and video sections.
  • Typography: Google Fonts or standard fonts, with different sizes for H1 to H6, body, header, footer and dropdown menus.
  • Colour: unlimited colour options with a picker, reaching every module.

It comes with one-click demo import, widgets included, and a basic child theme. More than 600 retina-ready icons complete the kit.

Blog, galleries and shop for before and after the event

An event does not live only on the day itself: it needs news beforehand, photos afterwards and, sometimes, merchandise. The blog offers two layouts (classic and grid), with a sidebar on either side or none, and several post formats (video, audio, gallery, image and standard). You can set up several blog pages with their own categories, show a slider and share on social networks.

The gallery (TZ Plus Gallery) offers 14 layouts, from 1 to 6 columns, and can show images from your WordPress library, Flickr, Facebook, Instagram or Google+. If any service no longer works as it used to, your own library is the safe option.

To sell physical tickets, books or T-shirts, there is WooCommerce compatibility: a shop with 1 to 4 columns, its own design for single products and modules to display products by category, SKU, sale, featured or newest.

Deciding if Meetup suits you: limits and common questions

Meetup gives you the event's shop window, not a management system. The registration form is a design section; to collect sign-ups you need to connect it to a forms plugin. The theme is ready for Contact Form 7 with design integration, and for newsletter plugins. Check in the demo how the form fits with what you need to collect from each attendee.

Can I edit it without knowing how to code?

Yes, with the WPBakery Page Builder modules and the theme options panel. Expect to learn how that builder works.

Is it useful for anything other than a conference?

Yes. Its design is multipurpose and it also works for business sites, although the speakers and schedule sections are its strong point.

Is it multilingual?

It is ready for WPML, which is a separate plugin you need to have in order to publish in several languages.

Does it sell tickets by itself?

Not as a ticketing system. With WooCommerce you can build a shop, but attendee management and access control are outside the theme.
