About Meow Lightbox Pro
When the enlarged photo is the only thing that matters
A well-edited series ends up in a grid of thumbnails: the visitor opens one photo, sees it in a generic viewer and leaves. That second step, the enlarged photo, is where someone decides whether they like your work, and it is rarely taken care of.
Meow Lightbox Pro is the paid version of Meow Lightbox, a lightbox for WordPress made by and for photographers. What Pro adds is turning that viewer into a small exhibition: slideshows, a map of where each photo was taken and direct links to any image, plus small touches the developer keeps adding.
The underlying idea is simple: a photographer does not compete by having more photos on the site, but by getting the people who see them to keep looking long enough. Every Pro feature goes in that direction.
Meow Lightbox Pro depending on how you show your work
You present series to clients or to a jury
The slideshow is meant for showing a wedding report, a catalogue or a portfolio to someone who has little time and wants to see the whole.
You photograph travel, landscapes or specific places
If the place where you took the photo is part of its value, the map with the location of each image gives the visitor context and saves you from explaining it in the caption.
You share single photos by message or on social media
With direct links you can send the address of one specific image, instead of a page with forty photos and a "it is the third one from the top". It also helps your clients when they want to tell you which one they have chosen.
Three Meow Lightbox Pro features and what they change for the visitor
- Slideshows: the visit goes from opening photos one by one to watching a series in a row, in your order and at your pace.
- Location map: each photo can show where it was taken, useful if you photograph destinations or locations.
- Deep links: each image has its own address, so it can be quoted, sent or saved without losing the exact photo.
Common questions before installing Meow Lightbox Pro
Is there a free version?
Yes, Meow Lightbox is also offered in a free version. Pro is the one that adds slideshows, the map and direct links.
Can I send the link to one specific photo?
Yes, that is exactly what deep links do: they take people to that image and not to the page in general.
Does the map work with all my photos?
A map needs to know where each image was taken. Check in the demo where it gets that location from and whether your current photos have it.
It is a viewer, not the design of your gallery
The thumbnail grid, the order of the series and the layout of the pages still depend on the rest of your site. If you are looking for a complete gallery with templates, this is only the viewer part.
