A small clinic usually reaches the web with three problems: patients can't tell which specialties are treated, the phone number is buried under the menu, and whoever maintains the site can't code. Merit starts from that point: a theme with ready-made demos for the healthcare sector, edited with Elementor without touching code.
People looking for a clinic don't read: they scan
A patient doesn't arrive to read your history. They arrive to check three things: whether you treat what's wrong with them, where you are, and how to book. That's why Merit is useful: it comes with pages designed to organize that information: services, departments, portfolio, about us and pricing. You replace texts and images instead of designing the structure from scratch.
Merit by type of practice
Single-doctor office
The demos work for single offices and private practices. If you work alone, the OnePager version puts everything on a single page, which makes sense when you have few services to explain.
Clinic with several specialties
There are demos for General Hospital, Clinic, Dentist, Cardiology, Laboratory, Cosmetic Surgery and Veterinary. The department and service pages let each specialty have its own space, and the detail pages for blog, services and departments are edited with Elementor.
Website for right-to-left readers
The theme includes 3 RTL demos, useful if your site targets patients who read Arabic, Hebrew or a similar language. It is also compatible with WPML for multilingual versions and includes .pot files to translate the theme's texts.
What you can customize without a developer
- Elementor: the visual builder used to edit pages, with image, video and color sections.
- Typography: Google Fonts from the options panel, plus support for custom fonts.
- Layout: wide or boxed layouts, unlimited sidebars and footer widgets.
- Content types: the name and slug of the custom content types and their categories can be changed from the theme options.
- Child theme: included, to modify templates without losing your changes.
- Forms: compatible with Contact Form 7 for the contact or appointment request form.
It also includes a shop (WooCommerce) with its own styling, in case you want to sell products such as cosmetics or hygiene supplies alongside consultations.
Contact Form 7 is not an appointment system
Set the right expectation: Merit is a presentation theme. Its compatibility with Contact Form 7 lets you receive requests through a form. If you need a booking calendar, agenda management or patient records, check in the demo what it includes; for patients to pick a time and get it confirmed, plan on a separate tool. Also remember that if you publish data or forms with health information, protecting your patients' data is your responsibility.
