About Modern Events Calendar
An unsold seat on the day of the event can't be recovered
Publishing events on a website often ends up as dates copied by hand, a calendar that looks neglected on mobile, or sign-ups by message that nobody keeps up to date. Modern Events Calendar brings events, calendar views and bookings together inside WordPress.
Whoever runs classes, workshops or conferences sells something that expires: an empty seat on the day of the event can't be sold afterwards. That's why it matters that visitors see the date and place and can sign up right there, without writing to you first.
From the workshop with limited seats to the Zoom event
If you teach classes, workshops or consultations
You can create single-day, multi-day or recurring events. With Pro there is also time-slot booking: you pick a layout and your clients book the slot they prefer, which is useful for consultations or classes with flexible hours.
If you organize in-person events
There are tickets with attendee check-in by QR code, maps and location layouts, and a seat add-on where guests choose their spot on a venue plan. The ticket and invoice add-on emails both tickets and invoices.
If the event is online or hybrid
You can run virtual, in-person or hybrid events. With the virtual events add-on or the Zoom integration you can even restrict access and embed the meeting link. There is also a Webex integration.
If you are coming from another events plugin
It can import events from The Events Calendar, Events Manager, Calendarize It, Meetup, WP Event Manager, EventsOn, Event Espresso, Eventbrite and Google Calendar, so you don't have to retype your schedule by hand.
60+ views so you don't have to fight with CSS
Many event plugins look poor out of the box and force you to tweak styles. Here the appeal is the range of layouts: over 60 views, including monthly, weekly, daily and slider.
- Event submission by the community: other people can propose events from your site.
- Payments: bookings can be paid through gateways such as PayPal, Stripe or WooCommerce.
- Mobile app: your team can manage events, bookings and attendees from a phone by connecting the site to the MEC app.
Common questions before setting up Modern Events Calendar
Can I sell tickets with the basic version?
No. The Lite version covers single, multi-day and recurring events, basic views and event submission. Booking and tickets are part of Pro.
Is it suitable for a restaurant or a church?
Yes, it works for any business or organization that schedules activities: classes, communities, associations, schools or conferences.
Does it force me to use Zoom?
No. Zoom and Webex are optional integrations for online events. In-person events don't need them.
Is it hard to set up?
It has a huge number of options, and that can feel overwhelming at first. People who use it usually say that once it is configured it is simple to manage. Start with one view and one test event.
Bookings, seats and tickets require Pro and add-ons
Online booking, time-slot appointments, location maps and the seat and ticket-with-invoice add-ons are not included in the free version. If your main goal is to charge for seats, plan from the start for Pro and the add-ons you need, and check in the demo that the booking flow is the one you want.
