A childcare centre is chosen with the website open on a parent's phone
People looking for a nursery or an academy for their child often do it at night, from their phone, comparing three or four centres at once. If your site is slow to show schedules, activities or how to get in touch, that family moves on to the next one. Modkids is designed for early education centres and children's services: nurseries, preschools, play schools, arts and crafts academies and similar sites.
Its design is responsive and retina ready, so the first impression on a phone is the one most worth looking after.
Modkids demos and the Elementor editor
The theme is built on Elementor and comes with more than 50 custom widgets, so you can build pages by dragging elements and seeing the result instantly. It includes eight or more demos that install with a one-click content import, so you start from ready-made pages instead of a blank canvas.
- Header and footer builder: choose from prebuilt designs or create your own with Elementor.
- Mega menu: supports images, icons and several columns, useful if you offer many programs by age group.
- Theme options: unlimited colors and fonts to match the centre's identity, plus parallax and video backgrounds.
- Page and post options: let a specific page (for example, the enrolment page) override the global settings.
- One page navigation: with smooth scrolling, for a single page website.

Can I use it to sell materials or workshops?
Yes, it is ready for WooCommerce, with several shop and product layouts. It is a generic shop: it does not include a system for reserving places or online enrolment.
Can I have the site in several languages?
It is compatible with WPML. The translation plugin is separate and must be installed.
Does it include forms?
It is compatible with Contact Form 7 and lets you connect newsletter sign-up to a Mailchimp list. Both services are set up separately.
Do I need to know how to code?
No. Everything is adjusted from the editor and the options panel. If you want to touch code, it includes an empty child theme so you do not lose your changes.
What to know before betting on Modkids
It is a design and layout theme, not a school management platform. It does not include a parents' area, a payment calendar or attendance tracking, and if you need them you will have to look for other plugins. The widgets and demos depend on Elementor, and the header and footer are built with it.
It includes Revolution Slider for sliders with photos and video, useful for showing classrooms and activities. A video background in the header looks striking, but it is heavy: test it on mobile before keeping it.
If your centre works with images of children, use photos only with the families' authorization before publishing them.
Demos import with one click, but review the content afterwards
Importing a demo loads sample pages, images and settings. Usually you then need to replace the texts, photos and contact details with your own, and check menus, header and footer. Pick the demo closest to your type of centre, import it on a clean installation and adapt it page by page. Documentation and videos are available to guide you through the setup.
