About Molley Belanger – Food blog for storytelling WordPress Theme
For the blogger who tells her life through recipes, not for anyone who needs a technical recipe database
Someone searching for a raspberry jam arrives through Google, but the person who comes back does so for the voice of whoever tells the story. A food blog lives off that second visit. Molley Belanger is designed for people who write in the first person.
It suits you if you publish recipes, decor ideas or lifestyle notes in your own tone. It is not the best base if your project is a recipe database with technical cards: the demo shows posts with category, title, excerpt, date and tags, but not recipe cards with ingredients, times or servings. It does not show a shop or subscriptions either. If you need any of that, check in the demo whether it fits before you decide.
Molley Belanger starts with the writer, not with a list of posts
The home page opens with a personal block: a greeting, who you are, which city you write from, what you write about and a read more button. It is the first thing a visitor sees, and it says who they will be spending time with before showing a single recipe.
Below it come featured posts with a category label.
Breakfast, dinner, desserts and baking: a menu you understand at a glance
The menu brings together four pieces:
- Home and About: the front page and the About page.
- Categories: in the demo, Breakfast, Dinner, Desserts and Baking.
- Contact: the direct route for anyone who wants to write to you.
A single post can show more than one category at once (in the demo, one recipe appears as Breakfast and Desserts), which helps when a dish does not fit in a single box.
A post list that shows just enough to earn the click
Each entry in the latest posts list shows its category, title, an excerpt, the date and the tags (for example, avocado, Dinner or ice cream). Below there is numbered pagination with a link to the next page.
A practical detail: in the demo the four posts repeat the same excerpt. It is placeholder text, but it reminds you that the excerpt is what decides the click, so it is worth writing a different, catchy one for each recipe.
A closing block with direct email and five social networks
At the bottom of the home page there is a contact block with an invitation to write to you and an email address, meant for ideas. Icons for Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Dribbble and WhatsApp appear in the header and the footer. If your main channel is a different one, check whether you can replace those icons, because the demo only shows those five.
Common questions about Molley Belanger
Is it only for cooking?
The demo is set up as a food and lifestyle blog, so it also fits decor or home tips. It is a personal blog structure, not a corporate website one.
Does it include recipe cards with ingredients and times?
The demo does not show them. You will see posts with title, excerpt, date, category and tags. If you want them, you would need to check how to solve it.
Can I run a shop with it?
The demo includes no shop section, so do not count on one as part of the design.
Which pages does the demo include?
Home, About, categories and contact, plus the post list with pagination.
