A creative portfolio gets lost when they all look alike
Whoever hires a studio, a designer or a fashion brand usually looks at several websites in a row, and most of them repeat the same grid and the same homepage. Coding something of your own by hand takes a long time, and a rigid template leaves you looking like everyone else.
Moroko is a multipurpose theme with a clean, modern look, designed for portfolios, corporate sites, design studios, fashion and blogs. What sets you apart is not the theme but which project you show first and how you tell each one, and for that it includes an individual project page.
Moroko is built with Elementor: its features and its limits
The theme is built on Elementor, the drag-and-drop page builder. This is what it offers:
- Visual layout: you build pages by moving blocks around, without touching code.
- Unlimited color styles: you adapt the palette to your brand instead of accepting the demo's.
- Animation for any element: you can add motion to headings, images or blocks. Use it sparingly: a portfolio where everything moves gets tiring.
- Project page and blog post page: one template for each project and another for each article.
- Responsive and retina ready: the design adapts to phones and tablets and looks sharp on high-density screens.
- Contact Form 7: the contact form is designed to work with this plugin.
Three things are worth being clear about. Contact Form 7 is a separate plugin, so you will have to install it yourself. If any element in the demo asks for an extra Elementor feature, check first whether it is in the free version. And Moroko is not an online store theme: if you need a cart and payments, check in the demo what is actually there before committing to it.
Moroko for fashion, studio or blog: the usual questions
Do I need to know how to code?
No. Since it is built on Elementor, the work is done by dragging and editing. Having an eye for design is still up to you, though.
Is it suitable for a site that is not a portfolio?
Yes, it is multipurpose: it can be used for a corporate site, a blog or a fashion page. Check that the demo sections fit what you publish.
Can I change the color of the whole site?
Yes, it includes unlimited color styles, so you can bring the palette in line with your brand.
Does it look good on mobile?
The design is responsive and retina ready. Even so, open the demo on your phone and look at your own project images, because heavy or badly cropped photos are what spoil a portfolio most.
The sample content is meant to be edited, not published as is
Moroko lets you start with the demo content instead of an empty page. The advantage is seeing from the start how a homepage, a project or a post looks with real material. The risk is leaving the sample texts and images half replaced.
A sensible way to work: import the demo closest to your business, replace the projects and the homepage first, install Contact Form 7 for the contact form and leave the animations for last, once the content is in place.
