Building a site for movies, series or anime usually starts well and ends badly: half-filled pages, synopses copied by hand, episodes in no order and a search that finds nothing once the catalog goes past a few dozen titles. TMDb data, autocomplete search and series listings

The theme can generate movie and series data from TMDb, so you don't have to type synopses and cast one by one. It also lets you translate the synopsis into another language during that import; if the translation doesn't exist or is incomplete, it falls back to English, so it's worth checking lesser-known titles.

What the theme doesn't solve for you

MovieStream organizes and displays content, but it doesn't give you movies or videos: you are the one who must have the right to publish and link what you upload. Nor is it a platform with subscriptions or paid areas. TMDb data depends on that service having the title; whatever is missing you fill in by hand. And if you want shortened or protected links, the integration exists with the SoraLink plugin, which is installed separately (specifically its client).

Is it suitable for anime and dramas, or only movies?

It works for movies, series, TV shows, anime and dramas, with separate series and movie listings.

Can it be translated or used in right-to-left languages?

Yes, it includes RTL support and a language file. TMDb synopses can also be fetched in another language.

Does it work with caching plugins?

It has its own cache and integrates with WP Fastest Cache, W3 Total Cache, WP Rocket and WP Super Cache; it is also compatible with Autoptimize. It's best not to activate several caches at once without testing.

Can I change the page addresses?

Yes, you can change the slug of the watch and series sections.

Does it support a child theme?

Yes, it is compatible with child themes, useful if you plan to edit templates.

Ask your hosting for the ionCube extension before importing anything

This is where most installations get stuck: the theme requires the ionCube Loader PHP extension, plus cURL and fileinfo. If your hosting doesn't have them active, the theme won't start, however well the rest is set up. Before you begin, confirm with your provider that it offers a recent PHP version and those three extensions.
