About Newsletter – Artificial Intelligence

Your list stays home, your draft goes traveling

You paste the newsletter text into the AI box to have it shortened. That text tells a client's story, with their name, and mentions terms you have not announced yet. What you may not have considered is where the text you wrote ended up.

With AI in email, what really travels to the provider is whatever you hand over yourself. This add-on does not transfer names or addresses to the provider on its own. What you put in a prompt, or the content you send for analysis, does have to reach it so it can respond.

Artificial Intelligence is an add-on for The Newsletter Plugin that adds AI help while you draft a send.

Four kinds of help while you draft the send

  • Subject suggestion: while composing the email, you can ask for alternative subject lines.
  • AI text block: a composer block that, from a short prompt, elaborates on an idea or rewrites content in a different tone.
  • Newsletter analysis: the AI reviews the content and proposes improvements, especially useful for mainly text sends.
  • Images through the media library: the composer uses that library, so a third-party AI plugin can generate images there that you then place in the email.

The fourth depends on that additional plugin. The official WordPress AI plugin is recommended for it.

What travels to the provider and what stays in your WordPress

The boundary is easy to remember:

  • Not sent on the plugin's own initiative: personal data such as names, email addresses and the like.
  • Sent: your prompts and the content you submit for analysis, because without them there is no response.

If you do not want a piece of data reaching the provider, leave it out of the prompt and of the text you submit for review. Also choose a provider you trust, because that is who receives this material.

Monitoring how much AI is used and what data gets transferred is not easy. The official AI plugin includes a tool to control which plugins use the connectors and how, and it is worth starting with at least one plugin of that kind.

An alpha-stage helper, with four features and nothing more

The add-on is at alpha stage, so treat it as a tool in development and review every result before sending.

The plugin's AI integrations are those four. Any other use depends on third-party plugins.

It does not bring its own provider either. You configure that in WordPress, and if the service charges per use, that cost is separate.

Turning on the AI in four steps

You need The Newsletter Plugin and a WordPress version that already includes the Connectors settings, the standard route WordPress uses for these services. You also need an account with an AI provider.

  1. Configure your AI provider in the WordPress Connectors settings.
  2. Install the add-on and enable the AI features under Newsletter, Settings.
  3. Install the official AI plugin if you want to generate images and control which plugins use the connectors.
  4. Create a test newsletter with no sensitive data and try the subject, the text block and the analysis.

To automate, measure or take AI across the whole site

This add-on helps with the content of a send. Other pieces of the same family handle distributing and measuring it:

  • Automated schedules sends with a design made in the composer, on a repeating basis or on a specific date.
  • Autoresponder creates follow-up series sent with your preferred delay.
  • Reports and Retargeting gives open and click stats, and lets you reach subscribers again with dedicated campaigns.

If you want AI for the whole site and not only for email, AI Engine Pro brings chatbots and content and image generation from the WordPress dashboard.

Decisions before turning it on

Does the AI switch on by itself when the add-on is installed?

No. You must enable it under Newsletter, Settings, and by default the plugin does not use it.

Does the provider receive my subscriber list?

The plugin does not transfer names or emails to it on its own. It receives your prompts and the content you submit for analysis.

How do I control which plugins use the AI?

With a tool like the one in the official AI plugin, which governs which plugins use the connectors and how.
