About Newsletter Events Manager Integration Addon

Your agenda changes faster than your newsletter

Anyone who organizes events knows the ritual: open the last newsletter, copy dates, venues and titles from the agenda, paste them into the email and hope you haven't left in an event that already happened. And if there's nothing new to report this week, you either send a weak email anyway or postpone it without telling anyone.

Newsletter Events Manager Integration Addon connects Events Manager with The Newsletter Plugin so the list of events in your email comes from your own agenda and not from your clipboard.

From the events block to a newsletter that builds itself

Imagine you send a weekly summary of upcoming activities for your association, cultural center or community. This is what the process would look like with this addon:

  • You install it and that's it. The addon has no settings panel. Once activated, a new block appears in the composer of The Newsletter Plugin.
  • You drag the Events Manager block into the email body. An options window opens and you can reopen it and reconfigure the block as many times as you like.
  • You turn it into the template of an automated channel. If you create an automated channel with the composer, its template can include the events block. Every time the newsletter is generated, the block updates itself and lists the next upcoming events.
  • You let it decide whether to send. Like the standard posts block, the events block can control newsletter generation: if there are no new events to announce, generation is suspended and no empty email goes out.

That last step is the one you'll appreciate most in practice: an agenda with quiet weeks doesn't force you to send a filler email, and your subscribers don't learn to ignore you.

What it needs and what it doesn't do

It's an add-on, not a standalone tool: it needs Events Manager to hold the events and The Newsletter Plugin to compose and send. It also doesn't create events, manage registrations or change how they look on your website; it only brings them into the email.

One more detail: the old automated channels based on themes, and the theme that generated newsletters from the events post type, are deprecated. To automate with this addon, start from a channel created with the composer. If your current sends rely on the old system, you'll have to rebuild the template.

Questions before installing Newsletter Events Manager Integration Addon

Do I have to configure anything after activating it?

There is no settings panel. Options are chosen in the block itself, each time you drag it into an email.

Can I use it for a one-off send and not only for automated ones?

Yes. The block can be dragged into any newsletter you compose by hand and reconfigured whenever you want.

Which events does it show in an automated channel?

It lists the latest upcoming events each time the newsletter is generated.

Does it prevent sending emails with no content?

Yes, it can suspend newsletter generation when there are no new events to announce.

Is it useful without The Newsletter Plugin?

No. It's an extension of that plugin and adds its block inside its composer.

Who it makes sense for

If you publish events regularly in Events Manager and already send, or want to send, a periodic newsletter, the addon removes the most repetitive part. If your agenda is occasional or you don't use Events Manager, it adds nothing.
