About Newsletter Formidable Forms Addon
You have a contact or quote request form that already works and gets visits, but every email address that comes in stays inside Formidable Forms and never reaches your newsletter list. Or worse: you copy it by hand when you remember. This addon connects that form to the Newsletter plugin so that whoever fills it in is registered as a subscriber.
From the form you already have to a list that grows on its own
The most useful thing about this addon is that it does not force you to build a new form: you reuse one that already gets traffic. A business that handles enquiries through a form has a weekly queue of interested people who left their email and will never see your newsletter. This is where that gap closes.
The process goes like this:
- Prepare the form in Formidable: create a new one or edit an existing one. It must have at least one email field, because without it there is no possible subscriber.
- Add a consent checkbox: a checkbox where the person agrees to subscribe to your newsletter. It is not required for the addon to work (you can collect subscriptions without consent), but if your activity requires express permission, this checkbox is what captures it. Adjust its text and save.
- Link the form: in the Newsletter plugin menu you open the Formidable addon page and see the list of your forms. You choose the one you want to connect.
- Map the fields: you indicate which Formidable field corresponds to each subscriber data item. The only essential one is the email.

It needs the Newsletter plugin to do anything
This addon does not send emails or manage lists by itself: it is the bridge between two plugins. You need both Formidable Forms and Newsletter installed. And it does not replace a classic subscription form: it is for when you want the subscription to originate inside a Formidable form, not when you are looking for a standalone sign-up block.
A different welcome email depending on the form
Optionally you can prepare a dedicated welcome email for those who subscribe from a specific form. It makes sense if, for example, a downloadable guide form and the general contact form attract different profiles and you do not want to greet them the same way. The email is designed with the Newsletter composer and you can check the reports for that message.
Multilingual sites and WPML
If you use WPML, for the visitor's language to be saved in the subscriber's profile you need to enable a WPML option related to language filtering for AJAX requests. It is worth testing with a real submission before going live.

Can I subscribe someone without a consent checkbox?
Yes, the addon allows it because the checkbox is not required. Whether you should ask for it depends on your case and the regulations that apply to you.
What fields do I need at a minimum?
An email field. The other subscriber data is optional and you map it yourself.
Does it work with forms I have already published?
Yes: you can edit an existing form, add the checkbox if you want it and link it from the Newsletter menu.
Does it work without the Newsletter plugin?
No. It is an addon and depends on Newsletter being installed.
