A cookie banner that fires everything too early is not worth much
Many sites show a cookie notice and, at the same time, already load the analytics or advertising script. The visitor sees a banner saying one thing while the page does another. If your site gets European traffic, that gap is exactly what you want to avoid, and it is the problem this plugin tackles.
It is a simple notice with concrete settings.
OceanWP Cookie Notice loads your scripts only after consent
The feature that matters most is this: you can add scripts that run only after the user accepts. You paste the tracking code into the matching setting and the plugin holds it back until the button is clicked.
You can also choose to reload the page on accept.
Two styles, your own text and an overlay so nobody ignores it
The notice does not have to look like everyone else's. These are the options it offers:
- Two notice styles so you can pick the one that best fits your design.
- Your own content: you write the message in your own words, in your brand's tone.
- Button text your way, instead of a generic "Accept".
- Button or close icon: you decide how the notice is dismissed.
- Styling settings to customize every part of the notice.
- Optional overlay that forces the user to accept the cookie policy before continuing.
Think carefully about the overlay: it covers the page until a decision is made, and that can annoy someone who only wanted to read an article. Test it on mobile before leaving it on.
The cookie policy and the legal review are up to you
The plugin handles the notice and the moment your scripts load. Everything else is on you:
- Handled by the plugin: visible notice, editable text and button, two styles, scripts deferred until consent, optional reload and optional overlay.
- On you: writing the cookie and privacy policy, and deciding which cookies your site really uses.
- On you: finding the scripts you need to delay and pasting them into the right setting.
- On you or a professional: checking that your setup meets the rules in your country. Installing the plugin does not guarantee that compliance.

Does it block cookies automatically?
Not automatically: it delays the scripts you add in its settings. Any loaded by other plugins or by the theme need to be reviewed separately.
Can I change the text and the button?
Yes. You can write your own message and button text, and choose between a button or a close icon.
Is it available in my language?
It includes French and German translations, and you write the notice content yourself, so you can write it in Spanish.
Can I force visitors to decide?
Yes, with the overlay setting, which forces them to accept the cookie policy before browsing further.
