Okab for those who don't yet know what site they will need
Choosing a theme for a client who is a consultancy today and wants a shop tomorrow, or for your own site whose direction is still undefined, often ends in redesigning every few months. Okab is a multipurpose theme built for that case: one starting point for businesses, finance, restaurants, construction, portfolios, magazines or shops.
The trap with multipurpose themes is a different one: with so many options, the site ends up with no identity. With Okab it pays to start from a demo, keep one header, one blog style and a couple of typefaces, and not use everything it offers.
Okab's visual builder and what you can put together with it
It includes Visual Composer as the page builder, with more than 75 shortcodes, and Slider Revolution for sliders. It lets you assemble pages without touching code, among the more than 275 elements the theme includes.
- Headers and menus: several header and menu models (left, right, top, fixed, animated, floating), plus a mega menu.
- Header and footer per page: you can change them on each page, handy for a landing page without distractions.
- Blog: 15 styles, including grid, masonry, timeline, standard and with a sidebar.
- Portfolio: 20 layouts, with Isotope filtering and a lightbox gallery.
- Settings: the WordPress Customizer shows a live preview, and it comes with a child theme and 700 Google Fonts.
Restaurant, construction, hosting or app demos, and also in Arabic
The demos cover business, finance, restaurant and cafe, construction and trades, shop, minimal portfolio, photography, app landing page, hosting, magazine, minimal blog, resume and cosmetics. They let you see the design applied to your sector before you decide.
The less common part is the RTL support: the theme works left to right and right to left, is translated into Arabic and offers RTL demos for business, finance and consulting in Arabic. If your client writes in Arabic, Hebrew, Persian or Urdu, you start from a design that is already mirrored, not a patch. If the demo you like is not RTL, check how it looks once you switch that mode on.
Forms, SEO and multilingual are covered with other plugins
- Already solved: layout with the builder, slider, headers, menus, blog and portfolio styles, child theme and mobile-friendly design.
- Separate, forms: it is compatible with Contact Form 7 and Gravity Forms, but you have to install one of them.
- Separate, shop: it is ready for WooCommerce, which you install yourself, as you do bbPress if you want a forum.
- Separate, SEO and speed: it works with Yoast and Autoptimize, which are not included.
- Separate, languages and newsletter: it is compatible with WPML and MailChimp, which are installed separately.
- Up to you: copy, images and deciding which parts of the demo stay. A restaurant demo is a design, not a booking system.
Questions before choosing Okab
Can I build a shop with it?
Yes, there is a shop demo and the theme is ready for WooCommerce, but you install the commerce plugin yourself.
Can I use it without knowing how to code?
Yes, the visual builder and the Customizer cover most of the work. For very custom changes, the child theme lets you touch code without losing it.
Does it work with right-to-left languages?
Yes, it supports RTL and comes with demos in Arabic.
Is it AMP compatible?
Yes, it is declared compatible with AMP.
