About Parish Church - Religion & Charity WordPress Theme
For the small parish with a volunteer running the website (and not for a diocese)
A neighbourhood parish or village chapel usually has its website in the hands of one person: a volunteer, a well-meaning sacristan or a parishioner who "knows about computers". When that person gets tired, the site is left with last year's schedules. This theme is designed for that scenario.
It suits parishes, chapels, faith communities of any denomination (Catholic, Protestant, Orthodox, mosques and other places of prayer), youth ministries, Bible schools, retreat or pilgrimage centres and charities. If you run a large institution, with different departments, sites and communications teams, consider something more structured: here the strong point is simplicity.
It is also built with Elementor. If you don't want to use that page builder, this theme is not for you.
Two homepages for two kinds of parish
- Traditional church: a classic design focused on services and worship schedules.
- Village parish: warmer and community-driven, for small, friendly churches.
There are 6 colour palettes and each one can be adjusted, so you can get close to your community's colours without touching code. The demo images and icons are included, so you can start from a complete website and replace the content with your own.
Sermons, ministries and pastoral team without improvising
What saves the most work are the content types that are already created:
- Sermons: you can publish homilies as video, audio or text, useful for those who cannot attend.
- Ministries: a page for each programme (children, youth, music, outreach) with its mission.
- Profiles: introduce priests, pastors and leaders with a bio, contact details and social links.
- Blog posts: announcements, reflections, devotionals and community news.
This prevents sermons from ending up mixed with the news, or the pastoral team being reduced to a group photo with no names.
Parish Church with donations, calendar and shop: which plugins come into play
The theme integrates with three plugins that cover a community's usual needs:
- Give: to collect donations and manage charitable or fundraising initiatives.
- Events Calendar: to show services, retreats and gatherings.
- WooCommerce: to sell books, religious items or event tickets.
These are separate plugins: you configure the payment gateway, taxes and order management yourself. If all you want is an offering box, Give is enough and you can forget about the shop. If you publish donor data or take payments online, check the data protection rules that apply to you.
Design tools included in Parish Church
It includes a premium Elementor add-on with more than 70 custom widgets, plus more than 50 basic widgets and more than 21 for the shop. It also has a header and footer builder, global colours and fonts, a mega menu, a popup builder and its own templates. Slider Revolution is included for headers with presentations, and there is an installation wizard, RTL and multi-language readiness, and WPML compatibility.
Keep in mind that the more widgets and effects you add, the heavier the homepage can become. For a parish website, a simple header and a service schedule visible as soon as visitors arrive usually works best.
Frequently asked questions
Does it work for a faith that is not Christian?
Yes. It is designed for any religion and denomination, including mosques and Muslim centres. Check in the demo whether the images and vocabulary fit your community and adapt them if needed.
Do I need Elementor Pro?
The theme is built with Elementor and is compatible with Elementor Pro. Check in the demo which elements depend on the paid version before you decide.
Can I publish audio sermons?
Yes, the Sermons content type supports video, audio or text.
Does it work for a non-religious nonprofit?
It can work for donation projects and charities, but its look and content are religious. For a secular nonprofit you will probably want a more neutral design.
