A DJ or producer often has their music spread across SoundCloud, social networks and platforms they don't control, and a website that stays a business card. When the algorithm changes, the audience stops seeing you. Pendulum starts from the opposite idea: bring music, dates and contact together on a site of your own.
Your audience lives on someone else's networks; your email list is the only thing you control
Pendulum connects to a MailChimp account you already have to capture subscriptions and send campaigns or event announcements to specific lists. It is how someone who saw you at a venue finds out when you play again, without relying on a network to show them your post.
Scamp: SoundCloud, your own MP3s or Shoutcast streaming in the same player
The theme includes the Scamp player, which adapts to any screen. It supports SoundCloud tracks through its API, MP3 files hosted on your hosting or elsewhere, and Shoutcast streaming. It works with a playlist and covers for each track.
- Tracks: a dedicated content type to manage tracks, sortable by dragging.
- Events, Slider and Portfolio: three other content types, also sortable by dragging.
- Post formats: standard, gallery, video and audio.

What matters is keeping contact within reach. The advanced headers support a title, image, slider, video or map, and you can change the background of each page with the background generator. Forms built with Contact Form 7 allow custom fields, a different subject per email and CAPTCHA.

Combine the player with image galleries, video or audio posts and the portfolio to showcase work. Disqus comments come integrated and can be turned off from the admin panel.
Club or promoter with a calendar
The event manager supports recurring and multi-day events, a countdown to the next one and an archive where events move on their own from upcoming to past. Each event can show its location with Google Maps.
Questions before choosing Pendulum
Do I need to code to build it? No. It includes WPBakery Page Builder, a visual drag and drop editor, and the one-click demo import installs what you see in the chosen demo.
Does it look good on mobile? Yes, the design is responsive, player included, and it is ready for retina screens.
Can it be translated? It includes .po, .mo and .pot files, and the translation covers the template and the admin panel.
Is it useful for anything other than music? It can be used as a modern portfolio, although its look and features are built for music and events.
You set up Contact Form 7 and MailChimp yourself
The forms need the Contact Form 7 plugin installed and active, and the subscriber list requires your own MailChimp account. Ticket sales are not among its features: if you want to charge for them, check in the demo how you would link to an external service. The same goes for a merchandise shop: don't assume it is there without seeing it in the demo.
