About Pick – Blogging Theme
Your reader almost never enters through the homepage
People who run a blog usually design with the home page in mind, but most visits come from a search engine straight to one specific article. That person doesn't know who writes, hasn't seen the rest of the site and, if something fails, leaves. Pick is designed around that reality: a clean, content-focused blog theme where every post has its author introduced below it, its own 404 page and its own search page so a lost visitor finds something else to read.
It supports all WordPress post formats (text, image, video, audio and the rest), so you can vary the type of post without changing template.
Three kinds of blog, three ways to use Pick
Personal or lifestyle blog
What matters is being recognized. You can add your logo as an image (with a retina version), your own favicon and the author box at the bottom of each article. Social sharing links are included, and the shortcodes let you display Facebook and Twitter statuses.
Travel and hobbies
Here audiovisual content carries the weight. Pick supports YouTube and Vimeo video, Soundcloud audio and audio or video files hosted by you. It also includes a Google Map, useful for showing a destination or a meeting point.
Tutorials
The code is commented and well structured, the SASS file is included and it uses Bootstrap, which helps if you're going to tweak styles. The 10 custom widgets and 10 shortcodes give you pieces to organize long content without installing a plugin for each thing.
Layout and settings in Pick without touching code
- Three layouts: sidebar on the left, on the right or full width.
- Footer: you can show or hide the footer widget area.
- Typography and icons: Google fonts, Font Awesome and custom icons.
- Color: unlimited combinations.
- Menus: it supports multilevel menus and is ready for a mega menu (check in the demo how it looks with your categories).
The design is responsive, the HTML5 and CSS3 code is valid and the theme is built to rank well in search engines.
Pick with WPML: a blog in more than one language
Pick is translation ready and compatible with WPML, and with Gutenberg too. If your blog will be published in two languages, the theme won't stand in your way; you add the translation plugin yourself.

Is it suitable for a store? It is conceived as a blog theme; if you need a catalog and a cart, check in the demo whether it covers what you're looking for.
Can I change the sidebar position? Yes: left, right or no sidebar.
Does it look good on mobile? It is 100% responsive.
The contact form needs Contact Form 7
Pick's contact form is built with the Contact Form 7 plugin, which you must install separately. Without it, you won't have that form. Also, being based on Bootstrap and focused on content, it is a sober theme: if you're after flashy effects or visual builders, that's not its territory.
