About PMPRO Membership Card Addon
A membership card is read by someone else, not by the member
Many associations and clubs collect the fee and forget the next step: the member has to prove they belong in front of someone who never opens your dashboard, whether that is the person at the door, a shop offering a discount or a fellow member of the organization. Without a clear document, they end up showing a welcome email or a screenshot.
PMPRO Membership Card Addon adds to Paid Memberships Pro a card that can be displayed on any page of the site and that also offers a clean view for printing. It is designed for sites where each member can hold one or more active levels.
Name, level, dates, photo and QR: you decide what shows
You choose which data appears and can change the label of each field:
- Member data: name, level, start and end dates, and any custom field from the user profile.
- Branding: an icon, a logo or the site logo, so the card looks like it belongs to your organization.
- Avatar: optional.
- QR code: generated automatically for each member, linking to their profile or containing specific user data.
Make sure your levels and their dates are properly set up before handing cards out.
Editor block or shortcode, depending on how you build your pages
You can insert the card with the Membership Card Block in the block editor, which gives you control over the layout, or with the [pmpro_membership_card] shortcode on any page, including inside a page builder. Both the block and the shortcode accept attributes to adjust the data shown, and with your own code you can go further: there are action and filter hooks aimed at developers. The add-on is ready for translation.
One practical detail: the card lives on a page of your site, so decide where you link it so members can find it without having to ask you.
Is a visual card enough, or do you need to validate entry?
This add-on displays and prints the card; it is not an access control system. It needs Paid Memberships Pro installed and, once activated, a few options have to be configured from the WordPress dashboard. If you want the QR to return the active membership information when scanned, you will need custom code to adjust it.
Does it work without Paid Memberships Pro?
No. It is an add-on for Paid Memberships Pro and is designed for its members and levels.
Can I show more than one level on the card?
Yes, it is designed for sites where a member can hold one or more active levels.
Can it be printed?
Yes, the card looks good on screen and offers a clean view for printing.
Can I include my own profile fields?
Yes, you can display custom user fields and change the label of each item.
