About PMPRO Shipping Addon
A welcome box with no address is a box that never ships
Selling a membership with a physical part (a quarterly box, a membership card, a printed magazine) has a problem that doesn't show up at payment: the money is in, but you don't know where to send anything. You end up asking for addresses by email, copying them by hand and resending parcels that came back because of a wrong door or apartment number.
In this business an address mistake costs twice: the shipment that is lost and the member who starts the relationship annoyed. That's why it makes sense to ask for the data at the only moment the member is paying attention: checkout.
PMPro Shipping Addon, from checkout to parcel in four steps
It used to be called Shipping Address and now appears as Mailing Address. It is an add-on for Paid Memberships Pro: without that plugin installed and active, it does nothing.
- Checkout: once activated, every level shows a mailing address section at checkout. You don't have to configure anything for it to appear.
- "Same as" checkbox: if the shipping address matches the billing address, the member copies it with one click instead of typing it again.
- Profile: members can fix their address from the profile edit screen on the site. Those fields are only shown to them if they have an active level with shipping enabled.
- Shipment preparation: the data is reflected in the members list and its CSV export, so you can prepare a single shipment or a whole batch from there.
Its job is to collect and maintain the address; the delivery itself is still up to you and your courier.
Common questions about PMPro Shipping Addon
Does the address appear on every level?
Yes, by default on all of them. If a level doesn't ship anything physical, you can hide the section level by level.
Does it work without Paid Memberships Pro?
No. It is an add-on and depends on that plugin.
Can the member change their address later?
Yes, from their profile edit screen, as long as they have an active level with shipping enabled.
Can I pull the addresses for a bulk shipment?
Yes: they are kept up to date in the members list and in the CSV export.
Digital-only levels: hide the address on each one
If you mix levels with a physical product and levels that are pure online access, go to Memberships > Settings > Levels, edit the level, open Other Settings and tick the checkbox under Mailing Address to hide the fields. You have to repeat it on every level that shouldn't ask for it. Check in the demo how each level's checkout looks.
