About Popup Builder
A popup that only asks for an email collects little and alerts you late
Many subscription popups end up the same way: an email lands in the list, nobody in the business notices until someone opens the dashboard and, by the time the subscriber is finally contacted, they no longer remember why they signed up. And with a single field you know nothing else about that person: neither their phone number nor what they are interested in.
Subscription Plus Popup is an extension for Popup Builder that expands the basic subscription popup with three things: owner notifications, automatic replies and additional fields.
Alerts and autoresponder in Popup Builder: reply while the subscriber still has you in mind
The basic subscription popup encourages people to sign up for your newsletter. This extension takes care of what happens right afterwards:
- Notifications to site owners: every time someone subscribes, whoever manages the site is notified. It is useful if the business handles contacts by hand, because it does not depend on someone checking the list.
- Autoresponder: it lets you send offers and promotions to subscribers automatically. That way the first message goes out without anyone having to remember it.
Before turning the autoresponder on, decide what that person will get in their first email. A discount with no context, or a promotion unrelated to what brought them to subscribe, tends to burn the contact.
Phone, number, select and text: fields that change what you know about each contact
Besides the fields the form includes by default, the extension lets you add custom fields: phone, text, number, select box and others. That turns an anonymous signup into a contact with useful data.
- A phone field makes sense if you will really call or write through that channel.
- A select box lets you ask from the start, for example which type of offer the person wants to receive.
- A text or number field collects specific details your business needs.
Every extra field is one more reason to abandon the form. Ask only for what you will use. If you collect phone numbers or other personal data, state on the form itself what you will use them for.
Is the basic subscription popup enough, or do you need Subscription Plus Popup?
Stick with the basic popup if you only want to gather emails and check them from time to time. This extension makes sense if you need to know about every signup, send an automatic reply or ask for more data than an email.
There are limits worth knowing. It is an add-on and does not work on its own: it needs the Popup Builder core plugin. Nor is it a full email marketing platform: its role is the autoresponder for offers and promotions. If you use an external sending service, do not assume it connects; check in the demo how it fits your workflow.
Does it work without Popup Builder?
No. It extends the Popup Builder subscription popup and depends on that plugin.
Which fields can I add to the form?
Phone, text, number, select box and others, in addition to the default ones.
Does it notify me when someone subscribes?
Yes, it notifies the site owners of each new subscriber.
Can I send promotions without doing it by hand?
Yes, through its autoresponder, which sends offers and promotions to subscribers automatically.
