A Monday with PublishPress Pro: from calendar to published article
Imagine you coordinate a blog with three writers and two editors. Here is how you would use it, step by step:
- You plan on the calendar. You see what is planned in a visual calendar. You can create a new post right from the calendar and drag an existing one to another date when the plan changes.
- You track progress on the board. Content appears grouped by status and you drag each post between columns: from draft to review, scheduled and published.
- You find what matters. In the content overview you filter by status, category or author, and you can print the summary for a team meeting.
- You notify the right people. You decide when each editorial notification is sent, who receives it and what it says, so an important change does not go unnoticed.
- You remind people of deadlines. You can send notifications before or after the publishing date, useful to remind someone to review, prepare or follow up.
- You bring alerts into Slack. Notifications reach a channel and your team can reply without logging into WordPress.

Is it useful if I write alone?
The calendar helps you organize dates even when you work alone, but the real value is in teams with several authors and editors who hand work to each other.
Can I see the calendar in Google Calendar?
Yes, there is an option to export the calendar to Google Calendar.
Do Slack alerts work without any setup?
No: you need a Slack channel to send the notifications to. If your team does not use Slack, alerts still work within the editorial workflow in WordPress.
Can I customize what notifications say?
Yes: you choose when they are sent, who receives them and what they include, and you can use a post's custom fields (post meta) in the message.
What to expect: it organizes the workflow, it does not write or optimize for you
PublishPress Pro does not generate content or improve your SEO: it coordinates dates, statuses and alerts. If your blog is run by one person with few posts a month, a basic calendar may be enough. With several authors and a couple of approving editors, that is where you will notice it most.
