About Qizon – Crowdfunding & Charity WordPress Theme
Asking for donations and running other people's campaigns are two different jobs
Building a fundraising website often ends with a nice theme and a donate button stuck on, with no place to present a campaign with a goal, dates and rewards. Or the opposite: a heavy platform when your nonprofit only wanted to receive contributions.
It pays to decide this before installing anything. If your organization asks for money for its own projects, your job is to tell the cause well. If you open a platform where other people publish projects, you become an intermediary: you have to review what gets published and look after the people who back it. Qizon covers both cases, but with different pieces.
Qizon splits the work between several plugins, and you have to activate them
It is a theme for crowdfunding and charity organizations with four homepage styles. The fundraising features come from plugins that work with it:
- Crowdfunding with WP-Crowdfunding and WooCommerce: users register, submit their project from a form on the public side of the site and manage it from there. Each project supports start and end dates, a featured image and video, a funding goal, minimum and maximum amounts, a recommended amount and rewards with an estimated delivery date.
- Four ways to end a campaign: when the goal is reached, on a date, when goal and date are both met, or never.
- Donations with GiveWP: to handle donations.
- Events, forms and newsletter: Events Calendar for the calendar, Contact Form 7 for forms and MailChimp for WP for subscriptions.
- Slider Revolution for headers with more movement.
The limits, plainly: the theme relies on the free version of Elementor, so don't count on features exclusive to the paid version. Without WP-Crowdfunding and WooCommerce there is no project platform, without GiveWP there are no donations and without Events Calendar there is no agenda. Online payments go through WooCommerce. These are plugins you will need to have active and configured.
What each user sees in their dashboard
Anyone who registers on your platform gets their own area with these sections:
- Update their profile and contact details.
- See the list of their projects.
- Check the projects they have backed.
- Review the pledges received.
- See their bookmarks list (favorite projects).
- Change their password.
Login and registration are also handled from the public side, without sending anyone to the WordPress admin.
Questions about Qizon before you decide
Does it work for a nonprofit that only wants donations?
Yes. GiveWP handles the donations.
Can a visitor publish their own project?
Yes, through the public form and the user registration of WP-Crowdfunding. Think about how you will review what comes in.
Can I change the design of the project page?
With Elementor you can edit the homepage, individual pages, the single project page, the project listing, the blog and the header and footer layouts. The theme adds more than 30 drag-and-drop elements.
Does it support several languages?
It is compatible with WPML, which is a separate plugin.
One click brings in the demo, and the child theme protects your changes
One-click demo import is useful for starting from a page that is already built instead of an empty canvas. Review the four homepage styles first and pick the one closest to your case. Check in the demo how the project submission form and a project page look, because that is where you will decide whether Qizon fits your platform.
Then you adjust colors and Google fonts from the theme options panel, which uses the Redux framework. If you are going to touch templates, work with a child theme: Qizon includes a basic one, so your changes don't get overwritten.
