About Real Estate Directory Kit FREE for WordPress WordPress Theme
Real Estate Directory Kit: an empty portal attracts nobody
A real estate portal starts out empty: with no listings nobody searches, and with no visitors no owner or agent wants to post. That problem comes before any design question, and it is worth keeping in mind when choosing a theme for an agency or a listings site.
Real Estate Directory Kit comes with a demo called NexProperty that gathers the typical structure of a portal: search, property pages, a map, agent profiles and access for others to add properties. The hard part is not setting it up but filling it with real inventory and keeping it current: a sold listing that stays online does more harm than a site with few properties.
Map, grid and list to search the same inventory
The demo includes a search by location, category, type of deal and price, plus an extended search by amenities such as washer, fireplace, refrigerator, WiFi or air conditioning. Results can be viewed as a grid, a list, a map, a list with map or an SVG map.
- Sale and rent each have their own entry in the menu, and every listing shows bedrooms, bathrooms and size.
- Currency switcher with dollar, euro and Croatian kuna in the demo, useful if your listings are viewed from several countries.
- Compare tool to put several properties side by side.
- Featured listings and property types on the home page to push what you most want to move.
Each format serves a different buyer: the map suits someone who already knows the area, and the list suits someone comparing prices and square footage.
NexProperty in the hands of an agency, a portal or an agent
Agency with its own listings
What matters to you is the showcase: a home page with search, featured listings, agent pages with phone numbers and recent sales, testimonials and a blog. If only you publish, you can ignore the user side.
Portal with outside advertisers
The demo shows user sign-in, an add property button, profiles and a packages page: the structure of a site where others publish. Check in the demo how sign-up works and what the packages do before promising paid plans to your advertisers.
Independent agent
You get more portal structure than you need, but the property page, the search and a profile with your contact details are enough for a small catalog. With few properties, rely on the featured home page: a map with two pins looks abandoned.
Questions before building your real estate portal
Does it work for sales and rentals together?
Yes, the demo separates both types of deal in the menu and in the search.
Can I show prices in several currencies?
The demo has a switcher with dollar, euro and Croatian kuna. If you need another currency, check in the demo whether it can be added.
Can other users post listings?
The demo has user sign-in and an add property button. Try that flow before opening your portal to advertisers.
Is it suitable for another kind of directory?
It is designed as a real estate site, with categories such as house, apartment, commercial, industrial, agriculture or garage. Do not assume it fits cars or local businesses.
The properties, agents and texts in the demo are filler
The properties, agents, testimonials and blog posts in the demo are sample content. You will have to replace them with your own and check prices, sizes and phone numbers before publishing anything.
What the demo shows is a showcase and a search. Client or contract management does not appear, so plan for that with another tool.
