About Request a Quote for WooCommerce

Some products can't go on a fixed-price listing: the price depends on quantity, requirements or delivery date. If you publish a price, you lose margin; if you simply hide it, the customer leaves without asking. Request a Quote for WooCommerce gives that customer a path: add products to a quote basket and submit a request.

The price is a conversation, not a label

Anyone selling to professionals knows the list price is rarely the final one. A wholesaler who sees a public figure uses it as a starting point to haggle, and one who sees nothing has to ask. This plugin builds on that reality: you can hide the price and replace it with your own message, so the first figure comes from you and not from the catalog.

Rules by role, product and category in Request a Quote

The heart of the plugin is rule-based management. You decide where the quote button appears (on specific products or a whole category) and for whom (guests or specific user roles). One possible setup:

  • Guests: see the price and a custom button that leads to login or registration.
  • Consumers: see the normal add to cart button.
  • Retailers: buy button plus quote button.
  • Wholesalers: no price or buy button, only the option to request a quote.

For the rest of the products, the store works as usual. You can also disable the button on specific variations of a product.

From quote basket to order

The customer adds several products to a mini basket, just as with a cart, and can change quantities or remove items before sending the form. That form is yours: you add the fields you need (text, email, number, file upload, text area, dropdown, multiple select, checkbox and radio buttons), sort them and mark the required ones. You can choose a one or two column layout.

Afterwards, in the admin you see the customer details, products, quantities and prices. Each quote has a status (pending, in progress, cancelled, etc.) and the customer gets an email when it changes. If they accept, you edit the price and convert the quote into an order. You can also create quotes yourself from the back-end and email them, with a PDF attached.

Price offers from the customer

With the offer price column, the customer proposes a figure for each product. You can also show the standard price in the basket, in My Account and in the emails. Useful if you negotiate on volume, but remember you are inviting haggling: use it only if you are really willing to negotiate.

Volume rates and price setting are up to you

The plugin manages the request and the follow-up, it does not decide what to charge. What it solves and what is left to you:

  • Solves: quote button, basket, form, statuses, emails, PDF and conversion to order.
  • By hand or with another plugin: calculating the price of each quote, defining the wholesale and retail roles (the user roles must already exist in your store) and any tiered rates.
  • Check first: compatibility with page builders and with WooCommerce Product Add-Ons has limitations, so test it in the demo with your products.
