A beautiful hotel website that does not let guests book costs you guests
People looking for accommodation compare photos, but they decide with another question: is there a room free on my dates and how much does it cost? If the website makes them write an email or call to find out, many visitors leave for another one that tells them right away. For an independent hotel, hostel or lodging, the direct booking is the one that goes through no intermediary, and the website has to earn it.
Sailing is a theme designed to solve that step inside your own site: hotels, hostels, resorts or bed and breakfasts.
Rooms, coupons and blocked dates with Sailing Hotel WordPress Theme
The booking system is run by the WP Hotel Booking plugin, integrated with the theme. From there you manage:
- Rooms, room types and capacities, with room search for the visitor.
- Pricing plans.
- Extra services per room.
- Discount coupons.
- Blocking of special dates.
- Customers and reports, plus booking several rooms with a cart.
Payment relies on WooCommerce, with four gateways: offline payment, Authorize.net, PayPal and Stripe. It is also compatible with WPML if your website needs several languages.
Revolution Slider and SiteOrigin to build the homepage without coding
The theme comes with demos and a one-click importer, so you start from a design already built and adapt it. It includes Revolution Slider for homepages with transitions and animations, and the drag and drop page builder SiteOrigin to lay out pages and posts. There are “About us” and “Gallery” pages, customization with live preview, unlimited colors and Google fonts.
It is mobile-friendly and Retina ready, supports translation (including right-to-left languages) and is ready for Contact Form 7 and MailChimp. The structured data covers posts, WooCommerce products and rooms, a plus for appearing well presented on Google.
Booking depends on the WP Hotel Booking plugin, not on the theme alone
Installing Sailing does not leave the website ready to take payments. The work splits like this:
- Already solved: the design, the structure of rooms, prices, coupons, extras, blocked dates, reports and the four payment gateways.
- You cover: installing and configuring WP Hotel Booking and WooCommerce, and opening your accounts with the gateways you will use.
- You cover: photos, room descriptions, real rates and booking or cancellation conditions, which you must write for your own case.
- Check first: if you need to sync your calendars with external booking portals, verify in the demo that it fits the way you work.
Structured data helps how you are presented in search engines, but it does not replace good copy about your property and your area.

Is it good for anything besides a hotel?
Yes. It is designed for hostels, resorts and bed and breakfasts, and since it includes WooCommerce you can also set up a shop with products, variations and prices.
Can I charge by card?
The available gateways are offline payment, Authorize.net, PayPal and Stripe. Charging by card depends on the gateway you activate and having your account with it.
Can the website be in several languages?
Yes: it is compatible with WPML, supports .po/.mo translation files and handles RTL languages.
Do I need to know how to code?
Not for the usual work: you import a demo, edit with SiteOrigin and customize with live preview. For very custom changes, you will need a professional.
