About Salvatoro WordPress Theme

Salvatoro for painters who sell through a screen

Someone buying a painting online never sees the canvas: they see a photo, and that photo competes with the menu, the logo and everything around it. Many artist portfolios fail right there: the site outshines the work, or the work gets buried in an endless list of unsorted thumbnails.

A collector doesn't think in upload dates, they think in series and styles.

Step 1: group your work by series, not by date

The demo shows the filter worth copying: Nude, Rural, Music, Urban, Ethnic, Nature, Portraits, Landscapes, Hyperrealism and River Series. It mixes subjects, techniques and specific series, which is exactly how a painter talks about their own output. Your first job is to decide which labels you will use before uploading anything, because they determine whether visitors find what they are looking for.

Those categories belong to the sample demo: you replace them with your own. And the demo shows no shop or shopping cart: if you want to sell online, work out how you will handle payment before choosing this theme.

Step 2: pick a header and footer that don't compete with the painting

Salvatoro offers four header styles (Default, Minimal, Centered and Vertical) and three footer styles (Default, Minimal and Centered).

The demo's social icons include Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest (Google + also appears, a network that no longer exists, so don't link it). There is also a keyword search.

Step 3: tell the story of your process on the Salvatoro blog

A painting sells better with its story: the sketch, the technique, the exhibition. The blog supports image, gallery, video, audio and quote post formats, so you can publish anything from a making-of video to an audio interview. To display it you have listing layouts (two variants), masonry (also 3 columns) and grid (also 3 columns), with a sidebar on the left, on the right or none at all.

The demo also includes biography and contact pages. Use them: art buyers want to know who paints before they write to you. There is also an elements page.

Frequently asked questions about Salvatoro

Is it useful if I'm not a painter?

Check in the demo whether its structure fits what you want to show. If your business needs bookings, a shop or complex forms, you will need to solve that separately.

Can I change the look without touching code?

Header, footer and sidebar options are chosen from ready-made styles. Check in the demo whether that level of adjustment is enough for your visual identity.
