About SeedProd Coming Soon Page Pro

A half-built website loses visitors you already had

While you build or redesign a site you have two bad options: leave it visible with half-finished pages, or put up a grey «under construction» sign that tells nobody anything. Either way the visitor arrives, sees nothing and doesn't come back.

The period before launch is one of the few moments when all the traffic you get comes from people curious about you, and almost nobody uses it to ask for an email address. SeedProd Coming Soon Page Pro is for exactly that: closing the site to the public while leaving a door open so people can be notified of the launch.

The drag and drop editor also covers maintenance and 404 pages

Pages are built with a visual drag and drop editor, with blocks and templates, without writing code. What you design adapts to mobile and tablet.

  • Coming soon page: limits access to your site while you work on it and can include a form to leave an email address.
  • Maintenance mode: limits access to your site with a maintenance page.
  • Connection to your email provider: MailChimp, ActiveCampaign, ConvertKit, Constant Contact or Zapier, among others.
  • reCAPTCHA: filters spam, bots and fraudulent submissions in the forms, so your list doesn't fill up with junk.

It helps to be clear about what it is not: it doesn't send emails or manage campaigns. It only collects the contact and passes it to your provider, so you need an account with one. And a waiting page doesn't replace real content: it is a temporary shop window, not a website.

Questions from someone about to close their site for a few weeks

Do I need to know how to code?

No. The editor is visual and works with the mouse. If you know some HTML and CSS you can fine-tune more, but it isn't essential.

Will it slow down my website?

It is built with performance in mind, and a waiting page with few elements is light by nature. The more images and heavy blocks you add, the slower it will be, so keep the design simple.

What do I need to use it?

A WordPress site installed on your own hosting. If you also want to collect contacts, an account with one of the compatible email services.

The 404 page is a second chance to capture contacts

Someone who lands on a broken link usually just leaves. With a custom 404 page, that error can end up as a subscriber. You can also create login pages with your brand's look, useful if your site has users who sign in.

Test your closed page the way a visitor would see it

Before announcing anything, open your site in an incognito window or on your phone, without being logged in, and check three things: that the waiting page appears, that it looks good on a small screen and that the form works.

Make a test sign-up with your own email and confirm it reaches your provider's list. And on launch day, remember to turn the mode off so you don't leave the site closed.
