For whoever manages several sites or a store, not for someone who just wants to fill in a title
Installing an SEO plugin and filling in titles and meta descriptions is the easy part. What is really hard comes afterwards: a URL that changes and leaves a 404, a noindex forgotten after a migration, hundreds of products without metadata, or a client who must not see the plugin's branding. SEOPress Pro is built for that maintenance work, not for the initial setup.
It suits you if you run a WooCommerce store, a local business, a news or video publisher, or several client sites.
And there are limits: the AI does not work on its own, it needs SEOPress AI credits or an API key from a supported provider. Also, the plugin optimizes your site, it does not guarantee rankings: the content is still your job.
Redirects and 404s before they cost you traffic
The redirect manager supports 301, 302, 307, 410 and 451, with no limit on quantity. When you change a slug or delete content, it alerts you and suggests creating the redirect. It also monitors 404 errors, which waste crawl budget and spoil the experience of visitors, and lets you import and export redirects as CSV or from another plugin.
It is complemented by a broken link checker: a bot scans your content and lists whatever no longer responds so you can fix it.
SEOPress Pro with WooCommerce and local SEO
- Store: adds extra metadata to products, generates automatic or manual Product schema and lets you track sales with Google Analytics Enhanced Ecommerce.
- Local business: creates the local business schema and displays the business details with a widget or a block in the block editor.
Structured data also covers article, event, FAQ or how-to. You can apply it automatically or manually. Breadcrumbs work in a similar way: they work in any theme, with customizable Schema.org markup, in JSON-LD and as a block.
Metadata with AI and in bulk: where you save hours
To generate title, meta description and alternative texts you can use OpenAI, Google Gemini, Claude, Mistral, DeepSeek or SEOPress's own credits. It works in the classic editor, the block editor and with page builders, supports bulk actions and works from the content and language of each post. In the block editor there are quick actions: shorten, expand, translate or rewrite.
If you already have the metadata in a spreadsheet, the CSV import tool saves you from typing them one by one. Always review what the AI generates: automatic text can come out generic.
Monitoring: alerts, audit and Search Console
SEO alerts check every day, notifying you by email or Slack, whether your site has ended up as noindex, whether robots.txt fails to load or whether the XML sitemaps fail. These are failures that go unnoticed for weeks.
The site audit runs 52 tests grouped into 13 categories per content type and uses Search Console to show clicks and position. That data on clicks, impressions, CTR and position also appears in the list of posts and pages, so you can sort by what performs best. If you use Google Analytics or Matomo, their basic metrics are shown in the WordPress dashboard.
For agencies and developers
It allows white label: you can change menus, admin bar and icons without touching code. It includes five blocks (FAQ, how-to, local business, breadcrumbs and table of contents), XML sitemaps for Google News and video, and a REST API for the audit. There are over 650 hooks, so almost everything can be filtered through code.
