About Shopmagic for Gravity Forms
Someone fills in your form and the first reply takes a day
A contact or information request form in a WooCommerce store usually ends the same way: the notification lands in a shared inbox, someone sees it when they can, and the reply goes out once the interest has cooled. People write at the moment it matters to them, and that moment is the one that gets used worst. ShopMagic for Gravity Forms connects Gravity Forms submissions with ShopMagic automations so that each form triggers a welcome email or the start of a sequence, without anyone having to remember.
From submitting the form to receiving the email, step by step
Imagine a form where a visitor asks for information about a product. This is how the journey looks:
- Choose the event. In ShopMagic you create an automation and pick the Gravity Forms form submission event. A dropdown lets you select which specific form triggers it, so the support form and the quote form can get different replies.
- Fill the email with what the person wrote. The add-on brings four new placeholders that let you use each piece of data from the form entry and the sender's email inside the message. Greeting by name and repeating what they asked for keeps it from feeling like a canned reply.
- Decide when it goes out. The email is fired by the event. If you want to space out several messages in a sequence, you need another ShopMagic add-on, Delayed Actions, and if you want to apply conditions, yet another one, Advanced Filters. They are separate add-ons and do not come with this one.
- Check what happened. The logs show the queue and the result of each automation, so you can see whether the email went out or got stuck.
Before publishing the form, submit it yourself and look at the log: it is the fastest way to see that the placeholders bring what you expect.
Frequently asked questions about ShopMagic for Gravity Forms
Does it work without ShopMagic?
No. It is an add-on for the ShopMagic core and is part of ShopMagic PRO. It also needs Gravity Forms active, because the submissions come from there.
Can I use a different form for each automation?
Yes. When you choose the event you select the form from a dropdown, so each one can have its own email.
Is it only for WooCommerce customers?
No. It can collect the data of forms submitted from both WordPress and WooCommerce to use in your automations.
Can I save the submissions in a spreadsheet?
Yes, but with another ShopMagic add-on, the Google Sheets one, which lets you export submissions to spreadsheets.
An automatic email does not replace the conversation
This add-on does not build forms and is not a newsletter service: it is the bridge between Gravity Forms and ShopMagic automations. If your form asks for something that needs a tailored answer, such as a quote, the automatic email serves to confirm receipt and buy time, not to close the sale.
And remember that form data is personal data: if you are going to use those emails for marketing, make the form itself ask for the corresponding consent.
