About Sober WooCommerce WordPress Theme
In an online store with a real catalog (clothing, furniture, cosmetics, watches, books) sales get lost on the way from the listing to the buy button: filters that can't find the right size, confusing variations on product pages, a hidden cart. Sober is built for that stretch, not just to make the homepage look good.
Sober spreads the effort across homepage, shop and product page
It comes with 16 predefined homepage layouts and 6 header layouts, with a normal or smart sticky header. That takes care of the start. What matters most afterwards are its 3 shop layouts and 5 single product layouts, plus quick view, which lets shoppers see an item without leaving the listing, and the mini cart.
A practical tip: choose first how you want the product page and the listing to look, then the homepage. A homepage can be changed in an afternoon; if the product page doesn't suit your kind of item, you'll notice it in every order that never arrives.
Column menus and sale listings for long catalogs
When there are many categories, the menu is a sales tool. Sober supports a mega menu with several column styles, and WooCommerce provides unlimited categories and subcategories and filters by attributes such as size or color.
In the page builder you get listing elements to show recent, featured, sale or best-selling products, so the homepage stays up to date without rearranging anything by hand. There are also page layouts with a sidebar or full width, several blog post formats (standard, image, gallery, video, audio, quote, link) and demo content so you can start from something already built.
- Sales: simple, variable, digital and external or affiliate products, coupons, a shipping calculator and order tracking, all handled by WooCommerce.
- Storefront: catalog mode, unlimited color schemes and Revolution Slider included.
- Marketing: compatible with MailChimp and with multiple currencies.
Variation swatches, wishlist and compare come from WCBoost plugins
Color or size swatches on the product page work with the WCBoost Variation Swatches plugin, and the wishlist with WCBoost Wishlist (it is also compatible with WooCommerce Wishlist). The product comparison tool is likewise listed among the WCBoost plugins that come with the theme. They are separate from the theme: you will need to activate and configure them, and how they look depends on them.
Sober doesn't replace WooCommerce either: payments, taxes and shipping are set up in the store plugin. The theme takes care of design.
Sober fits if you sell a catalog with variations, not a single product
If your business is a landing page with one item, this much store structure is overkill. If you handle dozens of products with sizes, colors and changing offers, here is something to build on.
Does it work without WooCommerce?
It is made for WooCommerce. Without that plugin you would only have pages and a blog, with no store.
Is it suitable for digital or affiliate products?
Yes, WooCommerce lets you sell downloadable and external or affiliate products, as well as simple and variable ones.
Do I need to buy a separate page builder?
WPBakery Page Builder is included and the theme is also ready for Elementor. Pick the one you already know.
Can I start with sample content?
Yes, it includes demo content. Before deciding, check in the demo how a product page with many variations looks, since that is where the design shows the most.
