About Stellar – Star Rating plugin for WordPress
If you want visitors to rate content, not run a full review system
Adding stars to a blog, a glossary or a product page seems simple until someone votes twenty times from the same phone, or until you find that your rating plugin won't sit where you want it. Stellar solves exactly that problem: a star score saved for each post, page or product.
It suits you if you want to rate content with stars and show the results. It is not a text review plugin: it lets people rate, not write opinions, so if you need comments with photos, seller replies or purchase verification, look for another tool. Don't think of it as a loyalty system or a long survey tool either.
As many stars as you want: from 1 to 12 and with your own icon
You aren't tied to the usual five stars. You can set the scale capacity between 1 and 12, so it works just as well for a simple 3 (like, so-so, dislike) as for a score out of 10.
- Number, size and color of the icons and the layout of the block.
- A library of predefined icons, or your own SVG icon if your brand calls for hearts, cups or whatever fits your content.
- Results visible on the site, in the WordPress admin, in both places or hidden completely.
How Stellar curbs repeated votes
The classic problem with any public rating is the inflated vote. Stellar lets you set a vote limit per IP, and results are processed in a distributed way to make it harder to cheat the scoring system. It is a reasonable barrier, not an absolute guarantee: several people behind the same IP (an office, for example) share that limit, so adjust the number to your audience.
Stars in Google results and schema.org markup
It includes schema.org markup, which can be switched on from the settings, designed so your ratings can appear in search results. Mind the expectation: the markup is only the information you provide; whether Google shows the stars is up to Google, and there is no way to force it. Use it with real ratings from your visitors, never with made-up figures.
Where Stellar appears and where it doesn't
You can place it in one of the predefined positions or use a shortcode anywhere. Assignments let you show it only in certain categories, on specific pages, for certain user roles or depending on the device. That keeps you from filling with stars sections where they make no sense, such as the contact page or the legal notice.
- It works with posts, pages and products.
- It is written in JavaScript without jQuery and is compatible with Gutenberg.

- It adapts to any theme, with Avada, BeTheme, The7, Flatsome or Enfold as examples.
