About Tasty Roundups
Your archive has dormant traffic and you know it
You have been publishing for years and the posts that performed best sink deeper into the archive page after page. A reader who lands from Google on a recipe, a route or a tutorial reads that post and leaves, because nothing shows them there are twenty similar ones. Building a list like "27 Soups for Winter" by hand, with a photo, text and link for each one, is such heavy work that it gets postponed for weeks.
Tasty Roundups exists for that job: you pick your own posts and the plugin fills in the title, featured image and description of each one. Your best asset is not the next post, it is the one already published that barely gets seen.
What Tasty Roundups does and where it stops
- Automatic filling: you select the posts and the plugin pulls the title, featured image and description, so you only adjust what you want to change.
- Design without code: you can change layouts, colors and button styles so the collection matches your brand.
- Structured data: every roundup includes JSON-LD, the format Google recommends, so search engines read the collection as a list of linked posts. That helps, but it does not guarantee rankings: search performance depends on many other factors.
- External links: you can mix your posts with links to other sites when you want to recommend the best of the web.
- Tasty Recipes: if you use it, you filter your recipes by category, cuisine, cooking method or diet. The star rating shows in the roundup and readers who click through land on the current version of your original recipe.
The most important limit: it is built for the block editor and does not work with the Classic Editor. It also has no converters from other roundup plugins, so do not expect to import what you already built with them.
Common questions before building your first collection
Is it only for food blogs? No. Food blogs use it for recipe collections, but it suits any blog with an archive worth sharing: gift guides, travel itineraries, DIY project lists or decor ideas.
Will it rank me higher on Google? A well marked up post helps, but it is not magic. What it does achieve is internal links to your older posts and a list that search engines can understand.
Do I need to know how to code? No, neither for the design nor for the structured data, which is added automatically.
A well-planned collection does more than list links
A roundup works when it has a clear theme and each item earns the click: an appealing photo, a short description and a link to the full post. The useful part is that each collection sends the reader back to content you already wrote, instead of leaving them on a single post.
Think in seasons (fall, Christmas), formats (quick dinners, crafts with kids) or travel routes. If you add external links, do it with judgment: a gift guide with products from other sites gains usefulness, but most items should be your own.
Roundups made with another plugin must be rebuilt from scratch
If you already have collections created with another tool, there is no automatic conversion: you will have to rebuild them in the block editor. Start with the ones that get the most traffic and leave the rest for later.
Before installing, check that your posts have a featured image and a decent description, because that is what shows in each item. And review in the demo how the design looks with your colors before publishing anything important.
