About Terminus – Responsive Multi-Purpose WordPress Theme

A collection is not published, it is launched

You have new pieces for the season, you upload them to the shop and they show up mixed with everything before. Nobody was expecting them and nothing suggests they have a date. A catalog answers people who already know what they want; a launch has to create that expectation first, present the pieces together and give a reason to decide soon.

That is why, with Terminus by Monkeysan, the thing most worth looking at is not the number of home pages. Its pages include coming soon, product launch and lookbook, and the shop has deal countdowns and a sold label. These are pieces for telling a sale in four stages.

This sequence is our own combination of the theme's features, so test it on your site before announcing a date:

  1. Before: a coming soon page with a subscription form to gather interested people.
  2. Presentation: a product launch page and a lookbook, which has its own content type.
  3. Opening: New and Featured labels, a promotional popup and a countdown on deals.
  4. Closing: a Sold label on what is gone and suggested product blocks.

The shop that receives that visit

  • 20 shop layouts, 3 to 6 products per row, with grid or list view and three-level categories.
  • Ajax live search, cart, comparison and wishlist.
  • Quick view, recently viewed products and a "You might also like" block.
  • Product pages: zoom and lightbox, unlimited custom tabs, reviews and ratings, with or without a sidebar.
  • WOOF product filter and multi-currency support.
  • Second image on hover and two product box styles.

Portfolio, blog and company site in one theme

  • 10 home pages and 10 headers, with drop-down, side or mega menu, and an optional sticky header.
  • Portfolio: 27 page layouts, 10 post layouts and 3 loading styles.
  • Blog: 19 page layouts, 8 post formats and its own slider.
  • Builder: 22 custom elements for WPBakery and 9 widgets.
  • Sliders: Revolution Slider and Layer Slider.
  • Languages and design: WPML, right-to-left support, more than 600 Google fonts and 151 layered PSD files.
  • Social: Twitter, Instagram, Flickr and Dribbble feeds.

Three checks for your launch date

The countdown needs a rehearsal. Use a test product to check how the deal looks when the counter reaches zero, before using it in a real sale.

The design stays tied to WPBakery. The 22 custom elements are for that builder, so they will not come with you if you move to another one someday.

It does not cover every sales model either. Its features do not include bookings or subscriptions. If your launch depends on them, you will need separate plugins and should test them with the theme.

Installing Terminus and publishing the first page

The package includes 16 plugins, among them WooCommerce, Contact Form 7, a mega menu, WOOF, Revolution Slider and Layer Slider, plus sample data. This is a reasonable order:

  1. Install Terminus and the plugins you plan to use.
  2. Load the sample data with the one-click installation, preferably on a clean site.
  3. Choose the home page and the header.
  4. Set up WooCommerce and the product filter.
  5. Prepare the lookbook and the launch page.
  6. Run a complete test purchase.

WooCommerce or multipurpose with another builder

Hub has more than a hundred prebuilt sites and lets you choose between Elementor and WPBakery. KartPul WP is a WooCommerce theme built with Elementor and aimed at superstores.

Flatsome focuses on the shop and uses UX Builder, its own builder.
