About Thrive Ultimatum
A fake deadline costs more than it sells
Putting a countdown on a sales page is easy. Making the offer believable is hard: if the visitor reloads, opens another browser or clears their cookies and the clock starts over, they notice and stop trusting anything you tell them. Thrive Ultimatum is built for that problem: scarcity campaigns that behave like real ones.
Three campaign types in Thrive Ultimatum
The plugin lets you choose how time runs:
- Fixed date: a promotion with a specific start and end, such as a seasonal sale or a launch.
- Recurring: the plugin starts it, stops it and manages it on its own, following the schedule you define.
- Evergreen: every visitor who enters the funnel gets their own countdown and their own deadline, and experiences it as a campaign with a closing date.
You can run unlimited campaigns and mix types. That way, two people can see different offers depending on where they are in the funnel, their interests or the part of the site they visit.
Lockdown: a countdown that can't be dodged
In evergreen campaigns, the Lockdown feature keeps the countdown going even if the visitor switches devices, uses another browser or clears cookies. It also controls which pages they can see: the offer page is only shown to those who have access and haven't yet used up their time. Everyone else can be redirected to an "offer expired" page or a coming-soon page. That is what makes the scarcity genuine rather than decoration.
Countdown design and where to show it
It includes templates for countdown timers, widgets and floating banners. Each one is edited with a drag-and-drop visual editor: colors, background images, fonts and other elements. The text on labels, headings and buttons can be translated into any language.
You also decide where each campaign appears: in widget areas, in floating banners, only on specific pages, in posts of certain categories or by other criteria. This way the offer reaches the people it is meant for instead of repeating across the whole site.
One limit to keep in mind: Thrive Ultimatum manages scarcity, not your store or your cart. Reduced prices, coupons or product access are handled by your sales system; the plugin controls the time and who sees what.
Frequently asked questions
Does it work for a store with physical products?
Yes, for example to launch new products with impact or to move slow-selling items through a limited-time offer.
Is it good for affiliates?
Yes: you can pair each promotion with a time-limited bonus.
Can I use it only with evergreen campaigns?
Yes, and you can also combine them with fixed-date or recurring campaigns.
Do I need design skills?
No. The templates are already built to convert, and the visual editor lets you adapt them to your brand.
Can it be translated?
Yes, the countdown labels and the text of headings and buttons can be translated into any language.
Start with a fixed-date campaign before building the evergreen one
The sensible approach is to first create a simple campaign with a start and end date: pick a template, adjust colors and fonts to your brand and decide which pages or categories display it. Once you see how it behaves, move on to an evergreen one. There you should prepare the offer page and the "offer expired" page in advance, where you will send anyone who runs out of time.
