About Toolset WooCommerce Views

Your template contains only what you place in it

You design a product page your way: your fields on top, the photo to one side, the price clearly visible. The customer presses add to cart and sees no confirmation: the cart message is one more block, and your template only shows what you placed.

Replacing the standard template makes you responsible for every piece that used to come as given, including the ones you do not notice until they are missing.

Toolset WooCommerce Blocks, formerly WooCommerce Views, connects the shop with Toolset: it provides the WooCommerce blocks and lets you replace the default templates. On its own it creates no designs; it works alongside other Toolset plugins.

Blocks and shortcodes for the shop's pieces

In the template editor, these blocks place the shop's elements:

  • Add to Cart Button: the buy button.
  • Product Price: the price.
  • Rating: the product rating.
  • Cart Message: the cart notice, which should always be included.

Related products, upsells and cross-sells are built with a View block. Your own data arrives through Toolset blocks such as Heading and Single Field, which read dynamic sources: custom fields, WooCommerce fields and taxonomies.

Those who work with shortcodes have wpv-woo-buy-or-select, wpv-woo-product-price, wpv-woo-display-tabs and others, which need this plugin installed.

Your design or your theme's, block by block

All Toolset blocks for WooCommerce have an output selector:

  • Custom output: you apply your own design to WooCommerce elements, with full control.
  • Native output: the look comes from WooCommerce, your theme and other plugins. It offers fewer design options, and the editor preview may differ from the front end.

If you like how your theme presents WooCommerce elements, native output lets you decide what appears and where without styling them. Both can be combined in one template.

Beyond the single product

The scope does not end at the single product:

  • Templates by category: Toolset Blocks assigns templates and archives to product categories, and also conditionally.
  • Shop page: built with a WordPress Archive, whose loop defines how each product looks.
  • Searches: Toolset Blocks adds price and on-sale fields.
  • Lists and sliders: lists by taxonomy and product sliders.
  • My Account: accepts Toolset blocks inside the page.

When an item has no template or archive of its own, the default WooCommerce template is used.

Four plugins and a first template

A custom shop with Toolset needs WooCommerce, Toolset Types for fields and taxonomies, Toolset Blocks for templates, archives and lists, and this plugin. Toolset plugins work with any theme, though those recommended by the vendor give additional options. For a first product page:

  1. Activate the four plugins.
  2. Create with Types the fields and taxonomies your products need.
  3. In Toolset, Dashboard, press Create Content Template in the Products row.
  4. Design in the block editor and add the WooCommerce elements, including Cart Message.
  5. Choose each block's output and test a full purchase.

With Elementor or with the data piece

Toolset Types is the piece that defines fields, taxonomies and relationships, and Toolset Views is from the same family and serves existing sites already built on it.

If your site is built with Elementor, JetWooBuilder creates product, catalog, cart, checkout and account templates inside that editor.

When you replace your templates

Does it work without Toolset Blocks?

For product templates, archives and lists you need Toolset Blocks, or Toolset Views on existing sites already following that workflow.

Do I need PHP?

No. Toolset lets you develop custom shops without writing PHP.

Can I show WooCommerce fields in my templates?

Yes. Toolset registers those fields automatically and they appear in the WooCommerce group under Custom Fields.

What if I leave a category without a template?

Its products keep using the default WooCommerce template.

Why do I see the image twice?

Some themes already show the featured image on the product page, and the image shortcode repeats it.

Can my users add products from the site?

Yes, with Toolset Forms active alongside this plugin. To limit who uses the form, add Toolset Access.
