About Uniqel – Conference and Event WordPress Theme
An event has an expiry date, and so does its website
Putting on a conference means coordinating speakers, venue, sponsors and attendees, and the website is usually left for last: a PDF with the programme, a loose form and a pasted map. Uniqel is a theme designed for conferences and events that organises exactly what an attendee needs to make up their mind: who is speaking, when, where and how to sign up.
What Uniqel puts on the homepage
The demo is built like the website of an event in the video game and digital sector, and its structure can be reused for other topics:
- Event header: name, city, dates and a clearly visible tickets button, with a countdown to the start day.
- Block-based menu: About the event, Speakers, Schedule and Location, so every question has its place.
- Speakers: each person's name and title. Replace the names and titles in the demo with those of your speakers.
- Other events and partners: a strip with events from the sector and a block for partners, useful for showing who shares the stage with you.
- Subscription: a block to collect emails with a notice that data is not shared with third parties.
- Footer: links to Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and YouTube, plus privacy and terms of use.
Uniqel depending on who organises the event
If you repeat the same conference every year
This is the clearest case. You build the structure once and each edition you change the date, speakers and partners.
If you are an agency building events for clients
It works as a starting point to show a client something that already looks like an event, not a generic template. Expect to adapt colours, typefaces and texts to each brand; the demo has a very specific look.
If you are a community or association with an annual meeting
If your event has few speakers and a short programme, the structure is more than you need. What matters is that date and place appear at the top and again at the bottom, as in the demo.
If you want a website with a blog or community
The subscription block and the link to the news point to a website that informs, not to a community platform. Think of it as a showcase for the event.
How to present the programme and the speakers
Attendees compare your event with others by the quality of the people speaking, not by the design. Give each speaker's title and company, as the demo does, and make sure the programme states times and rooms clearly. A theme organises the blocks, but the website only convinces if the content is specific. Repeating date and place in the header and the footer, as Uniqel does, saves anyone from scrolling back up to find out when it is.
Questions before choosing Uniqel
Is it only for video game events? The demo uses that topic, and its blocks are speakers, schedule, location and partners.
Can I remove the countdown? It is a homepage block; check in the demo how it is configured and whether you can hide it once the event has passed.
Does it support several editions or an archive of past events? The demo shows a strip with other events, but it is not clear that it manages a historical archive. If you need one, check how it is organised before deciding.
Is it suitable for a trade fair with many exhibitors? The partners block is designed to show partners. If you need a profile for each exhibitor, plan for additional pages.
The tickets button is not a confirmed sales system
The demo includes tickets buttons, but that does not prove the theme charges or manages registrations on its own. Check in the demo whether the button leads to a form, an external link or another page, and work out whether you will need a separate ticketing platform or plugin.
