About User Registration MailerLite Addon
Members sign up in WordPress and your email list never finds out
Anyone running a membership site ends up with two lists that never match: the users registered in WordPress and the subscribers in the email tool. You export a CSV on a Monday, import it somewhere else, and a week later there are new sign-ups that are in neither place. User Registration MailerLite Addon removes that manual step: it connects your registration forms to your MailerLite account and every sign-up is added to the list the moment it happens.
It is an add-on for the User Registration & Membership plugin and does not work on its own: you need that plugin installed and a MailerLite account.
Each form can feed its own list
You choose which MailerLite list each registration form sends to. This is useful if you have one sign-up for students, another for paying members and another for teams: each group arrives already separated and you can write something different to each without filtering by hand later. Create the lists in MailerLite first and then assign them; that way you avoid mixing audiences from day one.
Double opt-in and conditional sending: not every registration has to be a subscriber
Signing up to enter a private area is not the same as asking for your newsletter, and that is where the risk of filling the list with people who did not want emails lies. Two features help separate the two:
- Double opt-in: when the user is added to the list, MailerLite sends them a verification message so they confirm the subscription.
- Conditional transfer: with conditional logic you decide when data is sent to MailerLite, based on what the user answers in the form, so the list only receives the people it should.
This gets you closer to a consent-based list, but the wording of the notice and compliance with your country's rules remain your responsibility.
Campaigns and automations are built in MailerLite
The add-on only moves contacts from one side to the other. Here is the split:
- Already solved by the add-on: automatic sign-up into MailerLite on registration, list choice per form, double opt-in and conditional data sending.
- You cover it in MailerLite: designing the emails, setting up a welcome sequence and launching campaigns. The add-on does not write or schedule any of that.
- Provided by the base plugin, not the add-on: the registration forms, memberships, content restriction and payments.
- By hand: the add-on acts when someone registers, so if you already have existing members, expect to import them into MailerLite yourself.
With User Registration MailerLite Addon the real work begins afterwards: deciding what you tell that list and how often.
Frequently asked questions about User Registration MailerLite Addon
Does it work without User Registration & Membership?
No. It is an add-on for that plugin: it needs its registration forms to have somewhere to take the data from.
Can I send each form to a different list?
Yes. You choose the MailerLite list for each form, for example one per membership type or per campaign.
Does it send welcome emails by itself?
No. The double opt-in verification email is sent by MailerLite if you enable it; any other message you set up yourself inside MailerLite.
Is double opt-in mandatory?
No, it is an option you turn on if you want the user to confirm their subscription before ending up on the list.
