About UserPro – User Profiles with Social Login

A WordPress community starts with knowing who gets in and what they can do

Building a members site often ends up as a patchwork: the default WordPress registration that doesn't match your design, profiles nobody fills in, users sent to the admin dashboard, and content meant for a few that everyone can see. UserPro tries to solve that whole set from the front end: registration, login, profile and members directory.

Whoever installs this isn't selling a product, they're selling belonging: the value of the site depends on members seeing each other. That's why what happens after sign-up (profile, following, activity) matters more than the form itself.

Registration and profiles you can shape field by field

  • Multiple registration forms, each with an automatically assigned role (subscriber, customer, manager, etc.).
  • Unlimited custom fields: text, drop-down, radio, checkboxes and multiselect, plus photo and file uploads.
  • Control over which fields are required, which the user can edit and which are private.
  • A password strength meter to enforce strong passwords, role selection at registration and invitations to specific users.
  • Custom redirects after login or registration.

Admins can receive an email when someone changes profile fields, and users can delete their own account. The form can be embedded anywhere on your site.

Directory, following and activity: what brings the community to life

The members directory is shown as a table or a collage, with search and standard or custom filters. With the follow and unfollow feature, users build their network, and there are shortcodes to list followers and following.

The activity stream, public or private, collects sign-ups, posts, comments and new follows. Badges are assigned manually or automatically by role, and you can upload your own, and there are verified accounts.

Publishing without touching the dashboard, and restricting by role

The front-end publisher lets members post without entering the admin area, with support for custom post types and categories. Each author's posts can be shown on their own profile or in a sidebar.

Content restriction lets you limit a page or post by role or to verified accounts only, and lock the entire site or specific pages for logged-out visitors.

Social login and other pieces work through extensions and their own settings

Social login and registration appear as an extension with its own settings panel, so expect to configure each network separately. Don't expect a forum either: there is integration with bbPress and WooCommerce, but those must be installed separately.

  • Already solved: registration, login, profiles, directory, following, badges, content restriction and front-end publishing.
  • You cover it: social networks require their developer credentials, and the forum or shop depend on bbPress or WooCommerce.
  • Check in the demo: how each skin looks with your theme, since it ships with five ready-to-use ones and accepts custom CSS.
