Vigil – CCTV, Security WordPress Theme

A security website has to look more trustworthy than the competition in ten seconds

People looking for a camera or alarm company are usually in a hurry and afraid: they have been burgled, they are about to leave the house empty, or they need to protect a business. If the installer's website looks outdated or confusing, they call the next one. In this sector buyers compare equipment (domes, recorders, license plate cameras) without knowing how to tell them apart, and the website has to organize that offer before they lose patience.

Vigil: a theme built for installers and surveillance companies

Vigil is aimed at security services: video surveillance, home security, home automation, alarms, guards and bodyguards, for homes, villas, apartments and resorts as well as businesses. Its structure and sample content revolve around presenting equipment such as dome cameras, license plate cameras, digital video recorders, HD camera systems, vandal-resistant domes and cabinet alarm locks.

It is a responsive theme, so the service catalog can also be browsed on a phone, which is where many people search in an emergency.

What it includes and what to know before choosing it

Vigil relies on a set of bundled plugins. Here is what each one provides:

• Visual Composer with its Ultimate Addon: layout by dragging blocks, with icon boxes, interactive banners, counters, parallax effects and video backgrounds, plus the theme's own shortcodes.
• Unyson: a framework with extensions for sliders, mega menu, dynamic sidebars, forms, breadcrumbs, and backup or import of the demo content.
• LayerSlider and Slider Revolution: two tools for sliders and animated presentations.
• Contact Form 7: contact or quote request forms with the fields you need.
• Kirki: customization options in the WordPress Customizer.
• WooCommerce: to sell equipment online if you need it.

The limit lies in the abundance itself: several plugins and builders living together, which means more things to maintain and more weight on the site. You will also work with Visual Composer, not Elementor or the block editor, so if your team already masters another builder it will have to learn this one. Nor is it a surveillance system: it does not connect cameras or show live images, it only presents your business and services.

Frequently asked questions

Is it suitable for an alarm or guard company, not just cameras?

Yes. It is designed for security services in general: private security, guards, alarm systems and installation.

Can I sell equipment from the website?

WooCommerce is included, which lets you sell online and get paid in several currencies once configured. You prepare the product listings and payment methods yourself.

Do I need to know how to code?

No. Pages are built with Visual Composer by dragging elements, and general options are changed from the Customizer.

Can I load the demo website?

Yes, it offers one-click demo content import. Use it on a fresh installation, because it brings sample content that you will have to replace later.

Demo content imports with one click, but you have to clean it up afterwards

Importing the demo gives you a complete website to edit instead of starting from scratch, but it also leaves sample texts, images and services. Before publishing, replace every piece of equipment, description and contact detail with your own. Also review the plugins you will not use: if you prefer a single slider, deactivate the other so the site does not load more than needed.
