About Woo Product Filter PRO
Woo Product Filter PRO: the catalog grows and the customer can't find their size
When a store goes from a few dozen products to hundreds or thousands, browsing by category is no longer enough. The customer comes in, flips through pages, goes back and leaves without having seen exactly what they were looking for. Woo Product Filter PRO adds filters to your WooCommerce store so shoppers can narrow the list by price, category, tag or attribute without the page reloading on every click.
One thing worth knowing before installing it: a filter doesn't organize your catalog, it shows it as it is. If sizes are written three different ways or colors live in the description, the filter will display that mess. The plugin performs best when your WooCommerce attributes are well set up.
Woo Product Filter PRO in a footwear store: from size to cart
Picture a store selling sneakers and clothing. Here is how it would be used, step by step:
- Choosing what to filter: you decide the criteria among price, categories, tags, attributes (size, color, brand), rating, sales, stock or custom fields. The attributes must already exist in your products: the plugin uses them, it doesn't create them.
- Designing while seeing the result: the admin area has a live preview, so you adjust the filter without going back and forth to the store. You can choose a vertical or horizontal layout and use color swatches for the color attribute.
- Placing it where it fits: in the sidebar, on the shop page or in a custom layout, with a widget, shortcode, Elementor or Gutenberg. It can also be added through PHP code.
- The customer filters: they pick size 42, choose black, move the price slider and the list updates via AJAX, with no reload.
- Mobile: the filter panel is designed for touch screens and opens and closes with a button, so the list isn't buried under a column of options.
- Checking what gets used: there are filter usage statistics so you can see which filters get touched and which are unnecessary.
One limit to keep in mind: with so many options, setting it up properly takes time. Start with a few filters, the ones your customer really uses, and add more later.
Common questions about themes, custom fields and large stores
Does it work with any theme?
It is designed to work with Elementor and with any theme. Still, check in your store that the look fits; if not, the design can be customized with CSS and JS.
Can I save several different filters?
Yes, it supports unlimited filter presets and lets you export and import them, which is handy if you build the same thing on several stores or change environments.
Can it handle a catalog of thousands of products?
It includes smart caching designed so filters load quickly even with thousands of products.
Is it useful if I don't use WooCommerce?
No. It is a product filter for WooCommerce, and without that store there is nothing to filter.
If you sell technical specs: sliders and keyword search
In electronics or technical products, the buyer doesn't browse: they rule things out. They want a certain amount of memory, a certain power or a certain compatibility. That is what attribute filters, range sliders (not only for price, but also for specs) and keyword search inside the filter are for. It works just as well in niche stores (beauty, handmade, local shops) where attributes don't fit generic filters, because you can adapt the design to your catalog and your brand.
As always, the result depends on each spec being loaded as an attribute with consistent values: that is the groundwork no filter does for you.
