About WooCommerce Buy Again
Someone who buys the same product every month (coffee, spare parts, consumables, cosmetics) doesn't want to explore your shop: they want to repeat. With WooCommerce they can only dig through old orders, find the product in the catalog again, or use the order again button, which repeats the whole order rather than a single item. Every extra step is a chance for them to leave for another tab.
A repeat-purchase shop should look like a shopping list
Recurring business is won on the second and third purchase, and there the catalog gets in the way: the customer already knows what they want. WooCommerce Buy Again adds a section to My Account with everything that person has bought before. From there they can add several products to the cart or buy one directly with Buy Now.
The same buttons appear in the detail of each past order. You can also show a notice on a product page saying they already bought it, with a link to the earlier order, and a tag on the shop and product pages for items already purchased.
The repeat-purchase table, more capable than it looks
- Filters by name, category and purchase date, plus stock status, history and favorites.
- Quantity memory: it remembers how much they bought last time so they can repeat it in one click.
- Bulk actions: select several products and add them to the cart, buy them or mark them as favorites at once.
- Modern or classic layout: a card-style layout with images and improved mobile view, or the original table.
- Reorderable columns by dragging in the settings.
You can show the description, the stock and the last order number, and out-of-stock products are hidden from the table.
Email reminders and guest access
The plugin sends repeat-purchase reminders based on the last purchase, to both registered customers and guests. There is a test email so you can see how it looks before turning it on, and an email log you can filter by type.
Customers without an account can view their purchased products by verifying their email with an OTP code. They and registered customers can unsubscribe from reminders in the table itself or on a preferences page with the [bya_email_preferences] shortcode.
Control over who sees what and how well it works
You can exclude specific products from the section and restrict it to certain users or roles. The dashboard has activity reports, with the most repurchased products and the performance of the reminder emails. Frontend texts can be customized in the settings and the plugin is compatible with Loco Translate.
You can also show the table on its own page, with a shortcode or a widget, and include buttons on the orders page, the thank you page and the cart (including the Gutenberg cart block).
It only repeats what the customer has already bought
- Already solved: the repeat-purchase section, the buttons, the filters, the reminders, the reports and guest access via OTP.
- You cover it with another tool: recommendations of new or complementary products, subscriptions with automatic billing and loyalty discounts.
A customer who has never bought in your shop will see nothing useful: the section fills up with their history. If your catalog is made of one-off purchases (furniture, equipment), the effect will be minimal. And the reminders are email notices, not scheduled orders.
