About WooCommerce Conditional Shipping and Payments
Every method shown at checkout is a promise your warehouse has to keep
A WooCommerce store usually shows every shipping method and every payment gateway to everyone, until an order arrives for a 40 kg piece of furniture with express delivery, or for a product your carrier cannot send to a certain country. Then you have to write to the customer, cancel, or absorb the cost.
WooCommerce Conditional Shipping and Payments puts rules between what you have configured and what the customer sees. It does not invent new methods: it hides or disables the existing ones when a condition is met. You can create global or per-product rules and review all the restrictions in one place, instead of having them scattered across loose snippets and plugins.
Free shipping only where you want to give it away, with WooCommerce Conditional Shipping and Payments
For shipping methods, rules can depend on:
- The product, category or shipping class in the cart.
- The package weight, the number of items or the total amount.
- An applied coupon.
- A subscription purchase.
- The specific customer, their profile or their membership.
This lets you offer free shipping only on certain products or categories, or remove every option when a package exceeds the maximum weight you can send. It also lets you hide live carrier rates (such as UPS) for certain products, weights or destinations.
Payment gateways that change by country, currency or type of customer
Gateways work the same way: you can hide or restrict them based on the chosen shipping method, the billing country, the state or postcode, the order total, the currency, or the products and categories in the cart. You can also do it by customer: for example, offering certain gateways only to wholesale buyers, or requiring a specific gateway when buying a subscription.
If you sell to both professionals and individuals, it is a way to build two different buying experiences in the same store, without duplicating anything.
Destinations blocked by product
You can prevent certain products or categories from being shipped to specific countries, states or postcodes, which is useful for respecting your carrier's conditions or customs import rules. Which country or product is restricted in your case is something you need to know; the plugin only applies the rule you set.
Conditional Shipping and Payments or Table Rate Shipping for your store?
They solve different problems and can coexist. This plugin decides which methods and gateways appear; it does not calculate prices. If you need to create new weight-based or tiered rates within your shipping zones, that is the job of Table Rate Shipping. In addition, the integrations with Subscriptions, Memberships or Gift Cards require those extensions to be installed, and fully custom conditions require writing code with actions and filters. It is compatible with the WooCommerce cart and checkout blocks.
Can I offer free shipping only on some products?
Yes, by product, category or shipping class, and you can combine it with other conditions such as a minimum amount or a customer role.
Does it work with live carrier rates?
Yes, it can hide them based on product, weight or destination. It controls their visibility; it does not generate the rates.
Does it work with subscriptions?
Yes: you can require specific gateways when buying a subscription or offer free shipping on renewals.
Can I limit options to wholesale customers or members?
Yes, by customer role or profile, and by membership if you use WooCommerce Memberships.
