About WooCommerce Product CSV Import Suite
Changing the price of 3,000 products shouldn't take a whole weekend
Fixing a price on one product takes a minute. Fixing it on hundreds, or loading an entire catalog that arrives as a spreadsheet, turns into hours of repetitive clicks and mistakes nobody spots until a customer does. WooCommerce Product CSV Import Suite is built for that job: you pull the data out into a CSV, edit it in the spreadsheet and bring it back in one go.
The uncomfortable truth about a large catalog is that the data is rarely born in the store: it comes from the supplier, the ERP or a colleague with an Excel file. The person who imports well is not the one who types fastest, but the one with a reliable column to identify each row. Here that column is the product ID or the SKU, and with it you can merge changes into products that already exist without duplicating them.
Variations, vendors and brands in the same import flow
It goes further than the basic import and export tool that WooCommerce already includes. Its strengths:
- Variations: variable products are handled with a separate CSV for variations, so you control the parent product and each option (size, color) separately.
- Data from other extensions: it has been tested with Product Vendors, WooCommerce Brands, WooCommerce Photography and Google Product Feed. You can assign each product to its vendor or add the brand that makes it within the same import.
- Custom fields and taxonomies: it captures custom fields without writing code and supports any custom taxonomy.
- Appointment and resource data: it lets you bulk update information such as appointment availability.
Exporting with limits, including drafts and moving a catalog between stores
Exporting is useful for more than making backups. You can pull all of your product data or just part of it, and not only published or private products: drafts too. If your catalog is huge, you set how many products to export or skip the first rows with an offset, which avoids a giant file that hangs.
By combining export and merge you can keep the data of two stores aligned, for example a test store and a live one, because rows are matched to existing products by ID or SKU.
With the plugin active, the Delete ALL Products and Delete ALL Variations tools also appear under WooCommerce > Status > Tools. They are useful for clearing the catalog before a clean load, but they are irreversible: back up first or test on a staging site.
Do you need this or is the WooCommerce importer enough?
If you only work with simple, variable or subscription products, or with Product Bundles and Composite Products, the importer built into WooCommerce is probably enough. This plugin pays off when your data goes further: vendors, brands, custom fields, custom taxonomies or compatible extensions.
Can it export orders or customers?
No. It focuses on products and variations. For orders or customers there is WooCommerce Customer / Order CSV Export.
Can I update existing products without duplicating them?
Yes. When merging, each row is matched to its product by ID or SKU, so you need one of those two columns properly filled in the CSV.
Can I import variations?
Yes, with a specific variations CSV, separate from the parent products one.
Does it work with any extension?
It has only been tested with those mentioned: Product Vendors, WooCommerce Brands, WooCommerce Photography and Google Product Feed. If you use another one, run a test import with a few products first.
Can I export only part of the catalog?
Yes, by limiting the number of products or skipping initial rows.
