About WooCommerce Smart Prices

Your store shows a sale and the ad catalog still has the usual price

This usually happens when a third-party plugin applies the discount without writing the sale price the way WooCommerce does by default: it looks fine on screen, but the feed cannot detect it.

WooCommerce Smart Prices was born from that problem. It is a dynamic pricing rules plugin designed so that what the customer sees in your store is the same as what reaches your product catalogs.

What the pricing rules in WooCommerce Smart Prices do

The core of the plugin is its pricing rules. With them you change the price of the products you choose based on conditions:

  • Fixed or percent discount: you subtract an amount or apply a percentage.
  • Global price: you set a specific price instead of the usual one.
  • All products or just some: conditions let you limit a rule to the ones you care about.
  • Always or between dates: a rule can run continuously or only during a period you set.

For campaigns that need urgency there are Smart Discounts: discounts that expire on their own and show a countdown timer. They can be applied to all products or a selection, with a fixed or percent discount, and with a delay. They also let you target visitors by the UTMs of their landing page, useful if you want only people arriving from a specific campaign to see the offer.

Google Automated Discounts: Google decides the sale price

This is a separate feature. Google adjusts your sale price in real time based on performance signals, and the plugin displays it in your store. Only the qualified visitor arriving from Google Ads sees the discount, and you control the cart and session timeouts.

Be clear about the dependencies here: it works with the Google Merchant Center feed and is combined with PixelYourSite, Product Catalog Feed for WooCommerce and WooCommerce Cost of Goods. If you do not use that ecosystem, do not expect the complete feature.

A pricing plugin built for the feed, not to replace the feed

WooCommerce Smart Prices does not generate catalogs on its own. Its full integration is with Product Catalog Feed for WooCommerce, the plugin from the same team that sends prices and sale prices to the Meta, Google, Pinterest and TikTok catalogs. If you already use another feed system, test first that it reads correctly the prices this plugin applies. Nor is it a coupon or cart-rule promotions plugin: it works on the product price.

Frequently asked questions

Is it useful if I do not run ads?

The pricing rules and countdown discounts work as a sales tool in the store. Its distinctive advantage, however, lies in consistency with advertising catalogs.

Can I schedule a discount for a weekend?

Yes, rules can run between the dates you choose, or continuously while they are active.

Does it work with any feed?

It is integrated with Product Catalog Feed for WooCommerce. With other feed systems, test it on one product first.

Test it with one product before turning rules on across the whole store

Create a rule limited to a single product, check the price on the product page, in the cart and in the feed, and only then widen the scope. If you combine several rules, check that they do not overlap and that the final price is the one you expect. If you use Google Automated Discounts, set up the Merchant Center feed first and define the session and cart timeouts.
