About WPC Countdown Timer for WooCommerce

A countdown that lies teaches your customers to ignore it

Writing "limited-time offer" in a shop is easy. Getting the buyer to believe it is hard. If the clock hits zero and the discounted price is still there the next day, regular customers make a mental note, and the next countdown no longer rushes them at all. Urgency gets used up, and it goes fast when it doesn't match what actually happens in the shop.

WPC Countdown Timer for WooCommerce adds a timer to simple and variable products, both in the shop archive and on the single product page. Its best use is tying it to the product's scheduled sale dates, so the clock and the price tell the same story.

A weekend sale with WPC Countdown Timer, step by step

Imagine you discount a pair of sneakers from Friday to Sunday. This is what you do and what each step solves:

  • Activate the timer on the product. There is a Yes/No setting per product, so you can show a countdown only on the campaign items and keep the rest of the shop clean.
  • Choose where the time comes from. You can use the scheduled sale dates or a custom schedule. With the sale dates, there is no risk of the clock saying one thing and the price another.
  • Set the start and the end. If you leave the start empty, the count begins the moment you save your changes. The end is required and is picked from a calendar popup.
  • Write the texts. You can add one text above and another below the clock, for example "Special weekend price".
  • Pick the style. There are five: flat, square, rounded, light flipper and dark flipper. Test them against your theme's colors.
  • Decide where it shows. In the plugin settings under the WPClever menu you choose the position separately for the archive and for the single page: under the title, the rating or the price, above or below the add to cart button, or simply hidden.
  • Decide what happens at the end. You can write an ending notice that replaces the timer block, both in the archive and on the product page. If you leave it empty, the countdown simply disappears.

It only displays time: price and stock stay untouched

The plugin is purely visual: it doesn't change the price, doesn't mark a product as out of stock and doesn't stop it from being bought when the countdown reaches zero. If you want the sale to truly start and end through actions such as setting or removing the sale price, setting a product out of stock or blocking its purchase, you need another plugin from the same family, WPC Product Timer for WooCommerce. Together they work as a pair: one runs the campaign and the other makes it visible.

If you use the countdown on its own, schedule the sale dates in WooCommerce with the same end, or the customer will see the ending notice (or no countdown at all) next to a price that is still discounted.

A shortcode for the countdown outside its usual spot

With [wooct_product] you show the current product's countdown with a shortcode, which helps if your theme or page builder doesn't place the automatic block well. There is also a shortcode builder to create a custom countdown and place it wherever you want. The plugin includes RTL support for right-to-left languages and WPML integration for multilingual shops.
