About WPC Frequently Bought Together for WooCommerce
A customer looking at a laptop rarely thinks about the charger, and someone buying a shirt doesn't remember the jeans. When those extras don't show up at the moment of decision, they go unsold or get sold by another store. WPC Frequently Bought Together for WooCommerce puts those suggestions on the product page, with a price that invites people to take the whole set.
From the star product to the forgotten accessory
Best sellers draw the attention, and small items (a cleaning kit, a screen protector) are almost never the first thing someone thinks of. That is the opportunity: a cheap accessory, offered next to something the customer is already looking at, gets accepted without hesitation because the extra spend is small. Let's walk through a case with a laptop as the main product.
Step 1: you decide what goes with the laptop
In each product's tab you hand-pick the list of add-ons. You can also let the plugin show the related products, cross-sells or upsells you have already set up in WooCommerce. The manual list takes priority over the store-wide criterion, and you can turn the block off on products where you don't want it.
Step 2: you set the incentive
You assign each add-on a percentage or a fixed-amount discount, and you can also discount the main product. One detail protects your margin: you can calculate the bundle price from the regular price instead of the sale price, so discounts don't pile up until you have no profit left. Each item has its default quantity, so you can build asymmetric deals (one of an item at 90% of the price, two of another at 80%).
Step 3: you adjust how it looks
- List layout or grid with 2, 3 or 4 columns, with separate images.
- A different layout for desktop and mobile.
- Block position: above or below the add to cart button, or wherever you want via shortcode.
- Show or hide thumbnail, price and short description.
- Checkboxes ticked by default, so the customer only has to click buy.
Step 4: the customer decides
They can untick what they don't want, change quantities (with minimums and maximums you set) and open each product in the same tab, in another one, or in a quick view window. If you enable the add-separately option, the extras go into the cart as independent lines rather than as part of a set.
Questions before installing WPC Frequently Bought Together
Can I apply the same bundle to hundreds of products at once?
Without the premium version, the list is built product by product or with the general criterion of related products, upsells and cross-sells. Smart Rules, which let you assign bundles in bulk by categories, tags, attributes, product types and more, are exclusive to the premium version.
Does it work with variable products?
Adding variable products or specific variations as an add-on is also premium.
Does it force the customer to take the extra?
No: they are optional add-ons. For mandatory extras attached to the main product, WPClever has another plugin, WPC Force Sells, which can be combined with this one.
Can I offer the same product in several designs?
Yes, by enabling the option to allow the same product in the plugin's search settings.
Which offers work and which backfire
The plugin doesn't choose for you: if the add-ons have no connection to what is being viewed, the block gets in the way. Combinations the customer recognizes as logical work best: a charger with the laptop, jeans and shoes with a shirt, several pieces from the same collection. A modest discount on the extra is usually enough; a huge one on the whole bundle eats your margin.
To find products when building lists, the search filters by type, SKU, ID or exact phrase. Associated texts and additional price are edited in a localization tab.
What it combines with
It is compatible with most WordPress themes, WooCommerce add-ons and other WPClever plugins. With WPC Custom Related Products and WPC Smart Linked Products you can manage in bulk the related products, upsells and cross-sells that are then shown here. If you want messages with a countdown next to the offer, WPC Smart Messages is a separate plugin.
