About WPC Request a Quote for WooCommerce

A shop-window price that doesn't work for every customer

Putting a fixed price on something that is really quoted usually backfires: it scares off the big customer who expected terms of their own, or it gives margin away to the small one. And handling requests by email or loose forms ends in lost threads and quotes nobody follows up. WPC Request a Quote lets the customer ask for the price and lets you set it, all inside WooCommerce.

Whoever installs this sells products whose price depends on who buys and how much. The real problem is rarely receiving the request, but keeping track of it: which one is pending review, which one was rejected, which one nobody answered. Here every request lives as an order with its own status.

From button to paid order: how a quote travels with WPC Request a Quote

Picture a customer who wants several units of a product and needs a price and shipping tailored to them. This is the route.

Step 1: the customer builds a list

You add a request-a-quote button on the product page, in the shop or with a shortcode. The customer collects one or several products in a quote list. If your business quotes one thing at a time (a specific service, for example), you can limit the list to a single product. You can also hide prices for products that can be quoted and decide, product by product, whether they allow quotes or not, overriding the global setting.

Step 2: the request arrives as an order

You don't need another inbox: the request appears in the WooCommerce orders screen with its own statuses, such as Quote Request, Quote Pending Review and Quote Rejected. You also choose whether prices are shown or not in the first email and in the updated quote email.

Step 3: you set price and shipping

You review the request, set the custom prices and shipping, and send the updated quote to the customer.

Step 4: the customer decides

The customer can accept the quote and pay it, or reject it if it doesn't suit them. A rejection is recorded with its status, it doesn't just vanish.

If you sell bundles, composite products or items with add-ons, the plugin adds a payment method called Request a Quote at checkout, which turns the entire cart into a request and is designed for those complex product types. In other words, the customer follows the normal purchase flow, but instead of paying, they ask for a quote.

Questions to settle before building your quote flow

Can I hide prices?

Yes, storewide for the products that allow quotes. And you can allow or block quoting product by product.

Does it work without WooCommerce?

No. It is a WooCommerce plugin and it manages requests inside its orders.

Does it work for products with add-ons or bundles?

Yes, through the Request a Quote payment method at checkout. Check in the demo how your type of product looks.

Can I control what the customer sees in the emails?

Yes: you decide whether prices appear or not in the initial request email and in the updated quote email.

What the quote statistics tell you

The plugin includes a dashboard with statistics on your quotes. Read it as a thermometer for your pricing: if many quotes end up as Quote Rejected, your margin may be too high for that type of customer; if almost all are accepted, you may be quoting below what you could.
